We've followed the Lonely Planet suggestion and we've spent two lovely days in Manitulin with the great support of Brenda, the fantastic host of Southbay Guesthouse.
We've enjoied the perfect and big breakfast full of fresh fruit and kindness.
We will be back sooner.

My Son and I stayed 1 night at Southbay Guest House after cycling from Vancouver Canada.
It was absolutely wonderfull !!!!

The owners are very pleasant, nice people!
Nancy, who works in the art shop is also very nice!

Frankie prepared us one of the best breakfasts we had on our entire trip!
The cottage we stayed in was very comfortable!

I plan on returning in the future with my wife.

I would recommend this stay to anyone.

We stayed at the Southbay guesthouse for one night on our way home from a wedding in Winnipeg. We stayed in house in 2 bed rooms with a shared bath. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. We really enjoyed the hot tub in the evening it is screened in so there were not problems with bugs. The breakfast the next morning was very good , the service was very good Brenda the owner makes you feel at home and is very laid back . We ate at Carl and Earls I highly recomend it good home cooked food at reasonable prices. I would recommend you try the Guesthouse on your next trip to Southbay Mouth.

My husband and I found Southbay Guest House on our last night on the island -- we only wish we had found it sooner !

Brenda and Jose were welcoming and have found just the right balance between being there if you need something and offering you lots of privacy. The room we stayed in was beautiful -- clean ++ and very homey feeling. The location is perfect - close to the waterfront and lots of nice places to walk. They even have their own gallery offering an amazing assortment of work from Canadian artisans. And there is a kiosk where you can purchase wonderful smoothies, salads, and excellent coffee (thank you Jose !!)

On our last night on Manitoulin Island we were treated to a campfire on the grounds of the Guest House. It was a great experience. I would definitely recommend staying at Southbay Guest House.
