“Nice place to stay,”

I booked 2 rooms, one with a king bed and one for my sister in law a queen room. We booked through Bestwesten.com and got a decent rate. Both rooms were fine. The biggest complaint was how the heating system works. It was cold when we ented the room as the AC was on, we looked at the thermostat, the figures were so small we could figureout how to turn it ip and just adjusted by guessing, we went for dinner and got back and the room was very hot and we could not turn down the temperature. TRhe toilet anbd shower and show are in a adjoining room and the sink was in the main room, strange as it seemed. The king bed had 6 pillows and that was great, the TV was great, it shalso had digitial channels as well.

This property was very old as we could look out into the coutyrad and there was a old patio. Check in was okay and quick. Clerk was very friendly. Would have been nice t have a pool or something for the cost we paid. Restuarant was open at 630 and the food was okay there there and price was decent too.

Guest computer was a laptop stuck outin the middle of the hall and close the lounge, not good for doing anything.

“Not the best”

I'm not sure what this hotel was before Best Western acquired it but it is definitely not up to the standard of what I expect of this chain. The room looked old, tired and needs an updated look all the way from the paint to the decor. It definitely needs to be refreshed. The walls seemed to be paper thin as I heard everything that was happening on the floor above me and in the hall. In addition I could hear the music (although it was muffled) from the lounge down the hall. There was a restaurant but it was not open for early breakfast eaters like I am (7 am). The sink and the toilet and tub were not even in the same room. I don't know whose idea that was but it definitely does not work. Not what I would have expected from this chain of hotels.

Thank-you for taking the time to express your thoughts on your stay with us. We are constantly updating and refurbishing our hotel to provide our guests with the most modern accomdations, so feedback from our guests as to what type of changes they would like to see is always greatly appreciated. In regards to our restaurant hours, O'Brians opens at 6:30 Mon - Sat and 8:00 Sundays. We have adjusted opening times in the past, but although these hours may not be perfect absolutley everyone, they seem to make sense for the majority of our guests and cliental. Again, thank-you for your feed-back and please be assured that we take all of our guests comments very seriously.

“horrible stay”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 December 2008

Arrived at 5 pm and tthey didn't know if both rooms were ready. We asked if they could check and the deskgirl said she had to wait for the cleaners report. We got annoyed so she called someone from the resturaunt who checked; both WERE ready.

I had no control over the fan and dried up all night. my cfompannion in another room had no fan and cooked all night.

Let me first apoligize for not meeting your expectations at out hotel. We continually strive to create a enjoyable experience for our guests, but obviously could have done better in your case. Usually our housekeeping staff have all rooms completed before check-in time, but on this occasion we had an abnormally large amount of late check-outs and were running a little behind. We have since developed a better system of communication between our front desk agents and housekeeping staff; should we run into this situation again. In regards to the ventilation system, all of our rooms are fed by one unit that continually brings fresh air into each of the rooms. Each room is individually temperature controlled by a guest operated thermostat, so that although the air flow can not be turned off, the temperature is at the complete control of each individual guest. We have found that this type of system is much quieter than the usual fan driven HVAC units in most hotels.
Thank-you for taking the time to express your concerns and please be assured that we take all of our customers opinions very seriously.
