I have been to Bulgaria for past 16 years. Stayed in Perla for the first time in aug 2009. I have no copmplaints whatsoever .... staff were excellent, all spoke english, they had music by the pool even a karaoke night. Food and drink by the pool was lovely. Rooms spotless and maids very good too. Got clean towels every day. Owner even came to chat with us and was lovely. I would stay here again and recommend it to anyone ie: familys and couples.

We have been going to Bulgaria for the last 5 years and love it, this year was very disapointing because of the hotel. We paid to upgrade to a 2 bedroom apartment which we did not get, hotel staff are not helpfull at all. The shower doors fell off when you tried to close them, V ERY bad smell coming up through the toilets. We paid for s/c but the room had no plates,bowels,kettle,toaster ect. No entertainment for the kids or the adults at all. The bar staff rarely clear your tables and are very slow to serve you, they ignore you most of the time. If you read this take my advice STAY CLEAR OF THIS HOTEL. Also room was over run with flies due to the smell. 1 good point it is centreal thats all.

I stayed at the Perla Hotel in July for 3 weeks. I have been going to Sunny Beach for a number of years now but this was my first time staying in this hotel. It was a complete disaster from the word go. I had booked a double family room which they hadn't got available until the 3rd day of my stay, it was supposed to be self catering but i had to fight with them to get a kettle, there was no toaster, no bowls etc. The place was falling apart, when i went into the shower the 2 sliding doors came off in my hands, the hairdryer fell apart and there was a constant foul smell coming from the sink and toilet.

The staff were terrible they didn't clear or wipe the tables, didn't come to take your drinks orders and on that subject the drinks tasted awful they didn't know how to make a cocktail hardly spoke any English and charged you different prices every day.

The hotel provided absolutely no entertainment whatsoever they didn't even play any music around the pool area during the day.

All in all the hotel and its staff except for the maids was a disgrace and they should be ashamed of themselves.

cant believe all these bad comments, i have been going to bulgaria for over 20 years. my daughter recommended this hotel and i loved it ! it was central ..... 5 mins to anywhere !!! lovely pool area ... breakfast was fantastic and the staff were lovely .... room was spotless and i could not find fault with anything ..... my friends also went to the perla and they also loved it !!!

i can only imagine that these people are talking about a different hotel ..... i know there is a perla in golden sands ???
