While its standard of cleanliness is almost impeccable, the same can hardly be said for the level of service of the staff. The staff is hardly able to speak English at all, will not admit when they have not understood something you have said to them, will not admit that they have expressed themselves wrongly etc., which can obviously create several practical problems for the guests. On top of that, they are extremely rude and treat guests badly. A friend of the manager of the reception gravely and directly insulted my boyfriend's nationality during a discussion about an extra fee that the reception claimed to have told us about, but that they in fact had not.

Make sure you avoid this hotel - and Albena is overall not an interesting place to be, so you will not miss anything if you dont go there.

I stayed in Althea Hotel in september 2005. The hotel has nice rooms with twin beds and a sofa. The maid cleaned every day. We had only breakfast which was a little bit boring after 2-3 days eating almost same things.
If you want to go to the beach you need to walk a litte (7-10 mins); also to go to downtown.
I recommend for low budget.
