Service was wonderful! Brittany was very helpful during check in & even gave us directions to dinner. A manager's reception w/ free lasagna and beer was going on when we checked in, but we decided not to participate. I received free chocolate chip cookies and water for being a priortity club member. The room was very small (smaller than other Holiday Inn Express hotels that I've stayed in), but clean & smelled nice. The beds were a little too soft & we only had enough towels for two people (we had three in the room), but the hotel was happy to provide extra towels. The bathtub drain stopper was broken and there was no cold water. Complementary breakfast the next morning was fantastic! Eggs, bacon, sausage, buscuits, gravey, pancakes, juice, etc! Better than an HIE breakfast. Check out was fast and easy. I would recommend this hotel.

Our 10U Boys Baseball Team made it to the finals that were being held in Wilson NC. The first place I called from home was the Holiday in on Montogmery Dr, Wilson. After speaking to Brittany, I new I didn't need to call anywhere else. Brittany was so nice and said she would have the Manager Erika call me the next day which was Monday in reference to a group rate for our team. I spoke to Erika and she gave us the best rate available and plus some additions such as the breakfast room to gather if we wanted to eat pizza after the games. She also provided an additional room with a dry erase board so we could decided where we were going to put our kids on the field. Unbelievable customer service. I didn't think service like this existed anymore. I had to go straight to Wilson after work so my family had a late check in. Brittany was there to greet us as we arrived. The pool was closed but she allowed our kids to swim for about an hour and a half once everybody got to the hotel. Brittany, I understand you didn't have to do this but I thank you for your kindness from the bottom of my heart. Saturday morning I meet the manager Erika. Wow, Erika is a fine example of customer service. This young lady has a bright future ahead of her. Erika was so respectful, kind, and even had "Go Hasty" typed out on white paper hanging up in the lobby as we left. Saturday night we had a young lady by the name of Candace working the front desk. Candace was a sweetheart. Who ever trained these young ladies to deal with the public done a fantastic job. Being a Law Enforcement Officer its tough dealing with the public but these ladies here made the stay so comfortable we ended up staying saturday night when we had planned to go home because we lost out of the tournament. But because of the kindness of these employees we ended up staying an additional night. Ladies, thank you for all that you did. There will not be any hesitation on where to stay the next time we need to stay in Wilson NC again, Thank You.

It's a few minutes off the highway, but clean, friendly and very reasonably priced. There was some mold in the bathroom, but we weren't too bothered by it.

Okay, so there are 2 HI Expresses in Wilson NC. I hope that reviewers are reviewing the correct one so that other people know that they're getting accurate representation, depending on their location choice. My review is for the HI Express Wilson Downtown. This one is probably 3.5 miles or so away from I-95-;more in the town of Wilson-proper.

The facility is very clean and well maintained, although I think that it might have some age on it. My room was very spacious; I was upgraded to a small suite which was a nice touch seeing as the facility was far from max capacity. There is a free breakfast buffet in the mornings as well as a small fitness room. The staff were all very friendly, especially the front desk at check-in.

Most restaurants and stores are about a 5-10 minute drive from this hotel. I was not wild about the area immediately surrounding and bordering the property. I pretty much went inside and stayed put after dark. This hotel is convenient if doing business with BB&T corporate IT facility. I also thought that it's a bit overpriced because I can stay up near the interstate in a hotel of comparable quality for about $15-$20/night less.
