I just took my Mother, her sisters and my cousins (6 total) to the Orchard Inn for a weekend. We rented their largest cottage and it was lovely. It was well appointed and perfect for a family get together. The master bedroom has a kingsize bed with adjoining bath. The upstairs has a large bedroom with two queen beds and ajoining bath and a loft with two twin beds. The main floor has a small living room, kitchen (no dishwasher) and a dining room (all windows so delightful for just sitting.) There's also a screen front porch and small back porch. There are no real views from the cottage. We at breakfast (included) and dinner at the Inn. It was a wonderful experience. The food was delicious, the service attentive and the hosts (Marc and Marianne made a point of looking after us. In the evening they serve a 5 course prie fixe menue for $49 plus tip. The Inn has fabulous views from the dining room. There is a large sitting area complete with huge stone fire place. I can't say enough about Marc and Marianne. He does the greeting and she does the kitchen and both are very personable. I've alreay told my husband that I want to return next fall.

Just returned from a three night stay at Orchard Inn and realised where paradise is!! This is a lodge that has everything. Set in one of the most tranquil parts of the the Blue Ridge Mountains it is ideal for a real get away stay. The accomodation is lovely, very homely and provides everything you want. Marianne's breakfast are to die for and if you have the opportunity to eat there in the evening then you will not be disappointed. Marc and Marianne do everything to provide the perfect stay and we have left feeling part of the family. We regard it a priviliege to have stayed at Orchard Inn and will certainly be returning.

My wife, sister and I just spent a week at one of the happiest places we've ever been! The atmosphere and service at the Orchard Inn is relaxed and friendly. The owners, Marc and Marianne Blazer, and their staff go the extra mile to make your visit memorable. Marianne is the chef and she created wonderful breakfasts every morning and an outstanding selection at dinner. She even accommodated my gluten-free diet. Every table in the dining room looks out on the mountain ranges that surround the inn. Our room (#10 upstairs) was charming and very comfortable, but we actually spent most of our time on the porches or in the large living areas where we made many new friends. On the cooler evenings we enjoyed sitting by the large wood burning fireplace. The only bad part is that sooner or later you have to leave.

My husband and I celebrated our anniversary at this delightful Inn and enjoyed everything about our weekend stay. The uninterrupted view of green, rolling hills from the dining and accommodation areas makes this the perfect location for relaxing, and breathing the special air added so much to our sense of well being. The accommodations are tastefully decorated and most comfortable - appropriate for an old inn and not overwrought. The interesting owners, Marianne and Marc, are welcoming and attentive to one's needs and reservations for Marianne's gourmet dinners on the weekend are a must - we loved not having to drive anywhere for a wonderful meal even though there are a couple of decent restaurants in downtown Saluda. The delicious breakfasts are included in the accommodation package as is the refreshment station. There are lots of things to do in the area if one chooses but we would happily go back and do nothing except sit on the patio and enjoy a nice glass of wine and the view. We plan another visit as soon as we can get there.
