our room was spacious and comfortable, and quiet (despite being close to the main street ) the heating worked a treat on a very cold night and we enjoyed the added bonus of an electric blanket. The hotel is a short walk into town along the main road (although this is not well lit at night).
We ate at the Bushman's inn, great value, good service and a declicious meal.

Our room was spacious, clean, modern and comfortable. Ask for an upstairs room as you'll get a balcony overlooking the garden. There's a restaurant attached, The Bushman's Inn, we ate there - the food was above average and reasonably priced and the service was very good.
It's a 10 minute walk from the centre of Penola and there are a handful of vineyard cellar doors a short walk away. Make sure you go to Raidis Estates, one of the closest vineyards, it's a young guy who's just started out but his wines (all three!) are great.
