We came across the Beach Shacks by chance. We arrived in 1770 to go out on the boat trip to Lady Musgrave Island the following day. We were shown 'The Lighthouse' shack and I was gobsmacked. It was beautiful and the view fantastic. I couldn't believe that we could stay here. I thought I had arrived in Paradise. We stayed for 2 nights, but I wish we could have stayed longer. Krista and Corey were friendly, helpful and just lovely. I envied them managing these beautiful shacks and being able to live here. My 20 something daughter stayed in the car while we looked at 'The Lighthouse'. I returned to the car and said' 'bring your things, I have found a room'. She said,' What is it like?' I replied jokingly, ' It is OK.'
The look on her face when she entered ' The Lighthouse' was priceless. Her mouth nearly hit the floor. We were all really impressed. Fabulous.
I made a promise to myself to return there someday.

“Pub/Restaurant next door!”

Bali style without the bombings, drug trafficking or hawkers. Had a great stay and loved the trip to Lady Musgrave Island. Watch the stairs on the way back home after a few drinks!

“A hidden gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 January 2012

The Beach Shacks were stunning, with an awesome view of the beach, 1770 is a beautiful spot, the accomodation was very good, it was clean, and very comfortable and provided a good nights sleep.

Our only regret was that we couldn't stay longer !

“Almost perfect - except for beds in the second bedroom”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 October 2011

Stayed in the 'lighthouse' room. Almost everything about this place was awesome - the balinese decor was fabulous, heaps of privacy, private deck, friendly hosts. Everything that is shown on their website is accurate. 'The Tree' restaurant / bar next door serves excellent food - they must have a pretty good chef, as the quality far exceeds anything you'd expect from a relatively remote pub outside of a major town or city. The shacks are only a couple of minutes walk to the pier to catch the boat to Lady Musgrave.
Only things to note are:
1) the shacks are built onto a steep hill, so if you have problems with stairs maybe consider another option.
2) the beds in the second bedroom (1 x bunk and 1 x double) were pretty uncomfortable (although I was told the bed in the master bedroom was great - it looked beautiful). The bunks shook and the double bed was hard, uncomfortable pillows and as it was on wheels I slid around the room during the night, Maybe this room would be good for children who are less discerning (my party was all adults).

What a beautiful little gem! The shacks are perfectly appointed, immaculate and the location could not be better. We enjoyed the most incredible 10 days here over Christmas and would highly recommend them to anyone wanting a relaxed beach holiday :)
