Gaspe is a great town for a tourists. I really liked this hotel because you could walk a very short distance to everything and it had a view. The receptionist was very friendly and english speaking. Her tips for dining and cocktails was spot on. All in all perhaps the best place I stayed during a two week motorcycle ride in Quebec. I wish I had stayed another night.

My husband and I stayed here 2 nights during our stay in Gaspé. We were very pleased with this place. It's not your typical motel. I think the only reason why it is considered a motel is because the rooms open up to the parking. But besides that, the rooms are very spacious and clean. We stayed at 4 star hotels that did not compare to this place.
The rooms also have a little kitchen area, with an oven, a fridge and all the kitchen accessories you need. Our room also had a computer with free internet.
Location is the best it gets. It is just steps away from the main street.
I highly suggest this hotel!

After doing some extensive research for our trip to Gaspe, we were very pleased with our choice of accomodations here.

It's situated in a great location; we could easily walk to everything downtown (great restaurants, grocery store, shops, parkette with nightly talent, and Tim Horton's coffee). They even have this shortcut we can take that will lead to the main street. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful; they were able to answer all our questions to the best of their knowledge and even lent us an umbrella on our first night of arrival.

Our room had a great view except for the huge truck blocking it the first night. We had a bottom floor room but wished we had a top floor room because of the heavy stomping of our neighbours above us and for the unobstructed view. We even booked over 3 months prior to our visit. Unlike other motel rooms I have visited, this one was exceptional. It looked like the room was recently renovated; very modern looking with a kitchenette ( oven, stove, microwave, sink, dishes, glasses, mugs, pots & frying pan, cutlery). They even provided dish detergent and tea towels! It was furnished with a tall armoire, chester drawers, tv on swivel, chair, table with 2 chairs, plastic chair outside of room, ironing board, and hairdryer. The beds were super comfortable, as well as the linens. We slept soundly every night! Even though the motel is in the downtown area, it was fairly quiet at night.

The only drawbacks of this place was that the free wifi did not work and the phones in the room had trouble dialing with calling cards. However, the wifi situation was resolved when we were able to use the business centre computers to access the internet. Just ask reception and they will instruct you on how to access it.

On a side note, we did not find out until we arrived that cell phone coverage is only through Telus in Gaspe so we could not use our cell phones at all on our trip.

Overall, if you're visiting the Gaspe region, I highly recommend you book this motel!

This motel was a really great deal! We got the $110 room and it was far better than rooms we've paid a lot more money for. It was very clean, everything in the bathroom seemed new. There were no funny smells. The kitchenette was nice, but we were only there one night so we did not really use anything it. The place is nicely cared for. Easy walking distance to the shops and restaurants on the street below (and I mean literally below as there is a steep shortcut road you can walk down to get to the main street).

The only issues we had were the internet did not work. Wireless did not work and neither did the computer in the room connect to the internet. It was not that important since we were not there to check email or other online websites. Also, our room was closest to the road, so it was a bit noisy at night. (We live on a rural road, so we are not accustomed to any automobile noises at all. Took a while to get used to the sounds.)

If you go, ask for room away from the road. I would highly recommend Motel Plante. If I go to Gaspe again, I would happily stay there.
