I chose this hotel because it was pet friendly. The hotel lobby was very clean and the front desk staff were friendly. Our room was clean and fresh smelling (and it was a pet friendly room). We had a first floor room which was perfect for getting the dogs in and out.

The only issues I had were pet-related. You could go out the back doors close to the pet walking area, but had to return via the front door. It wasn't a huge issue but if it had been raining it would have been a pain. The other problem was that there were no trash receptacles near the pet walking area nor were there any dog waste bags. I always carry baggies to pick up after my dog, but it was quite obvious that hardly anyone else did. There was a lot of dog feces in the area so it doesn't appear as though it's cleaned daily. Once I picked up after my dog I had to use the trash can right outside the front door. Again, not a huge problem but it would have been nice to have a trash can close to the pet walking area.

There were several restaurants in the immediate area and several shopping centers just a few miles away.

This hotel is in a great location with two restaurants (Texas Steakhouse & Outback) in walking distance but the carpet was fairly dirty and even had a large chunk of a brownie (I hope it was a brownie) on the floor and a half full frozen drink bottle in the freezer. The furnishings were in fairly rough shape & dated with stains on the chair and major scratches on the desk & TV center. It looks like the bathroom was renovated recently but they stopped there. The shame of all this is the staff was great. Even the maintenance guy was assisting guests. The breakfast buffet was decent and the gal working it kept it well stocked & fresh.

I've stayed here twice and would stay here again. Rooms were clean which is the absolute bottom line as far as I'm concerned. Lobby was a bit smelly but not too bad. Service was good, breakfast good. Laundry room quite convenient. Only complaint was room was stuffy and we couldn't open the window. Value for money was great.

We made a late evening stop here on the way from Virginia to Florida. The hotel is two miles off I95 (there are no Rocky Mount hotels right on the interstate) and easy to find. The property is clean, well maintained but a little dated, very friendly staff. Room was quiet, clean, comfortable bed (full, not queen), well equipped. Free continental breakfast was standard for a place like this- bagels, english muffins, juice, boiled egss, limited fruit selection, yogurt. It's not an exceptional place but for the price it was an excellent value.
