Listen this hotel is nice and I would stay here again. But, there is a small issue that was never fixed and was a big negative for the kids and teens in our group. So, the positive.....New Hotel, Clean, Quiet, Hot Breakfast and right by a nice Winery. We went in January confirmed the indoor hotel. But, guess what??? It was closed the whole weekend. This is a new hotel and they claimed all it needed was an inspection, so what was the hold up? No answers from the young front desk girl. Oh well, I wasn't going swimming but the kids really were looking forward to it so that is why I gave it an Average rating.

Typical, new Holiday Inn Express. The rooms are in good condition--we had a king bed and a small refrigerator. The breakfast was good--cinnamon rolls, pancakes, eggs, bacon--all kept very well stocked. There is a gravel, hilly path to the Vineyards. The shopping center near the hotel is empty, except for a spa.

Located at Childress Vineyards. You can walk down to the vineyard by a path from the hotel. There's not much in the immediate area besides the vineyard and a few shops, but we always have a great time visiting. This hotel is new and very clean. The staff here was polite and helpful. The room was a great size and the view of the vineyards was beautiful. I suggest booking in advance because the hotel is frequently used by wedding parties and other groups celebrating at the vineyard. If you're planning on having a special occasion at Childress, I would recommend staying at this hotel, since it's quite nice and there really aren't other comparable hotels at a convenient distance. We stayed here in October 2011 for a romantic weekend and definitely plan to stay again.

wow, this place was really nice. the room was big, still had that new construction smell, no kidding. Clean, good breakfast, nice staff. great view of the vineyards. I would stay there again. Richard Childress, you rock!!
