We were on our way from PA to Florida and stopped here late one night just to get some sleep before starting out in the a.m. for the rest of our trip ( a good half way point).
I am by far a picky person, and I am always willing to give up a little for a good value...that being said, this was THE WORST hotel i have ever stepped foot in. Im pretty sure the better ratings this hotel rec'd were older reviews because this place was not only a total dump, it was a health hazard.
There was water damage in the corner of our room which caused the plaster to fall off the wall, into a pile on the floor. There was visible BLACK MOLD in the corner. The place was filthy, filthy dirty. The towels werent even white, but yellowish, and when we turned the shower on, black stuff came out. We killed the three big black bugs, that we could see. Im sure their families were lurking somewhere.
I realize that they may be trying to conserve on the electric bill, but there was no a/c in the lobby or in the hallways which made the musty smell almost unbearable. This was even worse in the room, where we couldnt open a window and it took a good 2 hrs for the room a/c to cool it off.
It looked to me like a hotel which had been closed by a prior owner, and then re-opened by one family, which may be living there. It was gross, to say the least, and is definately no bargain. Pay 20 bucks more and stay ANYWHERE other than here. I wish they had negative ratings.
