Stayed New Year's eve after yet another long drive. It presented as clean overall with some areas of the hotel needing a few 'upgrades', like maybe some new carpet, for instance. Beds were quite comfortable and our room boasted a fridge, coffee maker, blow dryer, microwave, and flat screen television. The bathroom was clean, though, the shower could have used a little updating as it was scuffed up a bit. Shower curtain was clean but the shower valve needed to be replaced as it was a challenge to adjust the water temp properly. Overall, we were satisfied with the room....not fancy, but, comfortable and the 'best in town' considering all other hotels are in 'tough' shape, therefore, we gave it a 4 star. It's a 4 star in comparison to the others in Jacksonville, Camp LeJeune area. We were impressed this hotel was incredibly quiet for a New Year's eve.....in 'Marineville', nonetheless! I guess that acoustics are top notch. We were also impressed with the complimentary morning breakfast that offered: make your own waffles, coffee, tea, juices, instant grits, instant oatmeal, assorted cold cereals, assorted yogurts, hard boiled eggs, fresh fruit, danish, bread for toasting, bagels and cream cheese, grapefruit and peach fruit cups, microwaveable Jimmy Dean brand sausage egg and cheese sandwiches, microwaveable corn dogs. The breakfast attendant was always available and 'restocking'; she was quite pleasant and attentive, also. We paid $117 inclusive of tax....well worth it. We will stay again when visiting Jacksonville, NC.

Room was very clean and comfortable. 4 pillows on the king bed and all were very comfortable. Bed was AWESOME! not too hard not too soft. It was very quiet. Breakfast had a wide variety and was good. Lobby and breakfast area was also very clean. I travel frequently in the US and Europe and this was one of the better hotels. I wasn't thrilled about the price ($119), but it seemed to be comparable for the area.

Clean, comfortable room. Friendly, efficient service. I got the room next to the elevator, but the walls were sufficiently insulated so that I never heard the elevator through the entire stay. Basic breakfast - waffles, cereal, etc. No hot buffet.

Several nearby restaurants. The Mexican restaurant next door is quite good. There's a Texas Roadhouse down the street if that's your preference. If you don't mind driving a few miles, head to Duck's Bar and Grill.

Down side: It can take an hour to get to the front gate of the base on a busy morning (not really the fault of the hotel, but factor it into your time if you're heading that way). Also, the hotel doesn't seem to match government per diem rates.

This was a decent property, although when compared to other Fairfield Inns it’s showing its age a little. I stayed in a King room, has micro/fridge and 32” flat screen. Everything was clean and fresh and updated, but not NEW like other FFI’s. The bed felt worn out/soft. Pillows were mixed with some excellent feather pillows with some lumpy foam pillows mixed in. The work area is fair, with too few outlets to power multiple devices and the chair is too low and unsupportive for working. The breakfast was good, up to Fairfield standards. The staff was friendly. The hotel is near MANY restaurants and stores. Traffic can get heavy out front, but no noise crept into room at night.

I give this property 85/100 with 70/100 for value. When a FFI in Jacksonville, NC costs well north of 100.00 the value drops considerably. Now you’re starting to get into Hilton Garden Inn territory, at which point the FFI is outclassed.
