I selected the Value Place on CLIFFDALE RD because of its convenient location. It was adequate for a couple of contractors. The rooms are clean and bare-bones, but that is to be expected with this kind of lodging. There is nothing provided that extended-stay-type places generally provide, like plates, cups, etc. I imagine because so many people are 'living' there and not just 'staying there'. For example, if you wanted a coffee pot, sure, you could get one; for $39.99. Or, you could walk a couple hundred yards to a Dollar General and buy a $10.00 one. It is located conveniently near fast food, 2 nicer casual resteraunts 2 gas stations and some cheap department stores. The manager who checked the contractors in was courtious.
However, what none of us expected was the booming trade that the 'professional girls' were doing out of that facility, or the drug trafficing at the all night car wash next door. We went to pick the men up on a Sat. afternoon to take them to dinner. In the 20 min. we waited, I watched (and heard) 1 woman try to convince 2 men she was waiting for to give her some of their product in trade for her product. It was a no-go, so she handed over the $. Another 2 women entered with 1 customer and came back out less than 15 min. later & hopped in an suv with 2 new guys, who they had propositioned on their way in with the 1st guy! There was no hint of any security personel that afternoon. Our contractors were not terribly happy about their work truck being parked there overnight - the only side of the parking lot that was well-lit was the curb it shares with the car wash.
I did report all this to the manager. He appeared very unhappy and said that he would be speaking to his security staff about it. However, our contractors said that they never once saw anyone that looked to be security. They were there over 2 weeks.
All in all, if you are looking for somewhere for a couple guys who can take care of themselves, don't mind loud rap at all hours of the night, and don't mind shooing off the professional gals, I guess this will work. If you want a place where you are not propositioned and you feel comfortable parking your car, or if you have family coming to town, I would suggest picking a different place.
