The floors were filthy, feet turned black after walking across once. Peeling paint everywhere, leaking water, ripped curtains, cracks in walls, etc. Never cleaned the pool or checked the chemical levels. The breakfast was a joke. The worst of any Days Inn I have ever stayed at, we travea lot and I have stayed at Days in in 6 different state. On top of that we prepayed on line and the would not give our money back to stay at a different hotel. The pictures online look nothing like this hotel. Not even the pool pictures are the same. The also act like everyone is trying to steel from them, they come into the pool to do a "check" to make sure only guest are in the hotel. The accused a white boy of sneaking in, he was actually staying with an African American family, had a room in his own name--what a "nice attitude". On top of the horrible conditions we left some items in the room, called a few hours later after checking out, the room had not been re-rented but the items were gone- not stolen we were told because we had checked out, so beware of cleaning staff the do take things.

I would not suggest staying here and would sleep in my car rather than stay here again. I had to get 2 rooms (1 for me and 1 for my Mom) due to having medical appointments at the Durham VA Medical Center. The rooms were absolutely filthy dirty, TV remote did not work and other amenities did not function. The pool had several people with kids swimming and "picnicing" which were not even guests. There were fome people actually grilling with open flames on the sidewalk right outside the room door. The vending machines did not function and staff was extremely rude and would not even attempt to refund my Mothers money after she had made several attempts to get a soft drink. It was scary even to leave the room during daylight due to the type of "street" people who were hanging aroung the motel. I have never seen rooms so filthy and experienced service so bad when staying in a ruputable motel. This was a terrible experience and it is well worth a few dollars to stay elsewhere. BEWARE !

We stayed at this place for duke graduation. It was late when we checked in and there were no rooms left in town otherwise we would have never stayed at this place. Next morning when house keepers came to clean my room they stole $ 700 from my purse and threw the envelope in the trash can as an insult to an injury. I ran to the front desk and notified desk clerk. Luckily when desk clerk confronted the house keepers one old guy ran along to some lady and asked her to return the money. I guess they all work in a team to rob customers.

This hotel would be an excellent horror movie location. Broken door hinges and deadbolts, the toilets are broken, the towels have black spots all over them(mold, I presume). There are gangsters all around the hotel, the pool is very dirty with green water, there are cars without license plates. When we tried to check out early, the front desk clerk tried to keep us by asking if something was wrong with our room, he would give us a free night, etc. Eventually we convinced him that we would be continuing down to Wilmington. Immediately after leaving, we found a nice Comfort Inn down the road - which was certainly a much needed safe hotel.
