My wife and I were a little skeptical because you never know what you are getting with a 2-star-ish motel. We did want a place that was dog friendly, so this Best Western it ended up being. The charge for our dog was an additional $10, by the way. It wasn't the nicest room, but for the price is was definitely adequate. The staff was EXTREMELY friendly and helpful. They even showed me how to use the waffle maker for the breakfast in the morning. The free breakfast included cereal (which was not put out, but available), yogurt, fruit, bagels, juice, coffee and the afore mentioned waffles.
It's not close to a lot of restaurants. We ended up going to a Chinese place about a mile away for take out. I'm not sure if they deliver or not, but there was a pizza place's phone number on the room key that delivers.
They did have a swimming pool outside that looked in decent shape, although we didn't have time to use it. It was 6 feet at the deep end.
Again, don't expect a four (or even 3) star hotel, and you should be happy. Our "pet" room smelled a little bit, but I'm sure it's hard to keep hotel rooms not smelling like animals.
The only complaint was that I found a rate online and wanted to verify that our dog was o.k. to stay with us. When I called the hotel to book, they said they couldn't match the Bestwestern.com online price (which was $12 more). Kind of annoying that I had to get off the phone and go back online to their own website to book. I could understand if it was Expedia, Travelocity, etc. or some other website. Not a big deal, I guess, all things considered.
