My wife, son and I stayed at the Radisson Research Triange Park after a Virginia Tech football game in Durham. We got a good rate on Priceline, which was the only redeeming quality of this hotel. We should have turned around as soon as we pulled up to the dilapidated, run-down building. The layout of the hotel was strange. It was a series of "Wings" that were not interconnected by interior hallways. You had to go outside to get from wing to wing. Also, the front desk did not tell me that the only elevator to get to the second floor was in the lobby wing. I drove over to my wing and had to lug my bags up a flight of stairs. The features in the room were the same as those you would find in a 3 - 3.5 star Radisson hotel (flat panel TV and Sleep Number Bed), but that was as far as it went. The rest of the room was dated, run down and in some places, simply disgusting. The outlets in the wall were so old and broken that you had to hold the coffee maker plug into the socket while you made coffee, or it would fall out. The fixtures in the bathroom and the lamps in the room were rusting. I think the toilet was the worst part though. My 2 year old son, who is potty training, asked to use the toilet just before we checked out. I took him into the bathroom and as he was climbing up on the toilet, I noticed the urine that was caked all over the seat. We couldn't get out of their fast enough. Do yourself a favor, and stay somewhere else.
Room Tip: I don't think there are any good rooms.
