We stayed at this hotel one weekend when the Carolina Hurricanes were playing a pre-season game at the TWC Arena, which is in walking distance. Many people were also in town for the Panthers game, which was also in walking distance. The light rail also has a stop right next door. The location is definitely the best part of the hotel, though there isn't anything particularly wrong with anything else - just nothing outstanding. The staff was very friendly and the rooms were clean. The walls are not very thick, however, which we learned when a very "vocal" couple checked in next door.
My one complaint was that we were (graciously) given a late, 2 p.m. check out so my two year old could take his nap in the room before the game, but housekeeping knocked on our door three times between 12 and 2. I told them every time we were granted a late check out. One lady did apologize profusely and said she had even called down to the front desk first (it was a different housekeeper every time). So I guess the front desk clerk who told us it would be ok didn't actually communicate that to the rest of the staff.

I’m happy to hear that you enjoyed the location of our hotel, which is conveniently within walking distance of all that Uptown has to offer. I’m also pleased that you found our staff to be very friendly and our rooms clean. I was disappointed to hear about the interruptions you experienced while your child was trying to take a nap. I understand how important it is for children to get enough rest – it makes for a much better day. I assure you that the lack of communication between our Front Desk and Housekeeping teams will be addressed, so as prevent this from happening again. We hope to welcome you back to our hotel should your travels bring you to Charlotte in the future!
