“DONT STAY!!!!!!!!!!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 May 2011

Another reason to distrust the internet when it comes to representing motels and their ammenities. "Largest garden hotel in the southeast" they boast. Wow. A garden full of dead roses and other flower varieties, grass at least a foot tall (which prevents guests from using the broken volleyball net and/or the couple of picnic tables that sit crocked behind the net.) The website also mentions a complimentary "InnCredible" continental breakfast. Not! The employee stated that the motel was purchased 5 years ago and that the website had not been updated. No breakfast(not that I wouldve eaten it, the room was so disgusting). Its simply the point of advertising what you provide and not advertising what you don't!
Now, about the room, the night before, employee named "Ricky" promised us our "executive" room would be ready for us early(by 11:30am) due to the fact that we would not be able to return to the room until after midnight. We arrived and the room was not ready. He offered us a "double" room at the same price!! We also had a coupon and he stated that he was not accepting coupons on that day... In a tough spot, we accepted the double room so we had a place to leave our luggage all day. We opened the room door and immediately knew we had made a huge mistake. Holes in the wall (fist sized holes), a terribly stained tub, dirty floors, dirty carpet, dirty appliances, dirty everything. My laptop will not charge now since I plugged it into one of the room's outlets. We were so uncomfortable with leaving our things in the room, we locked alot of it in our car! When we left, there was an officer in the parking lot, when we returned that night, there was an officer standing guard. Thankfully, we did not have to spend much time in the room. We were happy to leave the next morning. And I am NEVER ready to leave a hotel room to come home. I treasure every time my husband and I are able to get away, but this time it was no problem leaving. That says alot.
If I could purchase a hotel, I would take good care of it and make my customers want to return. I thought that was the goal of a business and its success...This one is an epic fail. Fix it up, care about your customers, update your website, and improve the environment with more security and maybe you have a chance. But, honestly I dont expect it...

Room Tip: Dont do it

“Never stay here...”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 May 2011

2 words...awful...nastiness. Bathroom door had been busted in and wasn't even repaired...wouldn't even shut all the way. Nothing looked even remotely clean. Spend a little more $ on another hotel perhaps and have a great stay somewhere else. This place needs demolishing.

“Listen to the other reviews. Do not stay here.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 May 2009

My sister and I were visiting Charlotte for a concert and found Country Hearth Inn through an online package deal. Since we're both graduate students, we thought that having a cheap place to stay (about $40) would be a smart idea.

However, the place was shady and odd from the moment we pulled into the lot. When we were checking in, there was half-eaten food sitting on a counter - not on a plate or a napkin, but just on the counter. There were stray birds wandering around in the back office. The lampshades looked like someone had punched them. The woman ahead of us in line kept requesting a specific room, insisting that she really liked that particular room and that she "liked the view." My sister and I had a hunch of what that might mean that this woman stayed at this dingy place often enough to have a favorite room, but we decided to check in anyway.

I didn't feel particularly safe - we showed up in the daytime, but our room put us in the back parking lot where there were few lights. Most of the cars were concentrated in this back lot. Once we got to our room, the first thing I noticed was the smell. The clerk had told us it was a non-smoking room, which it clearly wasn't due to the heavy odor of smoke (I am allergic to cigarette smoke). There were brown stains and rot in the ceiling, and the room looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a while. The bed sheets definitely did not appear clean.

Another red flag to the place was the sign on the back of the door once you entered your room: no refunds 15 minutes after check-in. I have never seen that type of notice, but it should tell you that the turnover rate is high enough that if the inn didn't have that policy, they wouldn't be making money because everyone would leave.

We managed to check reviews of this motel when we were actually in our room, and our gut instinct combined with past reviews pretty much told us to get out of there. If you're looking for a clean place for less than a hundred bucks, try the Residence Inn Marriott in downtown Charlotte. It's only about ten minutes away and is pretty much a palace compared to this place.

“Extremely filthy”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 June 2008

My 74 year old Father and I were traveling to Gettysburg on I-65 from Pensacola,Florida and needed to stop over night to rest at a hotel. We ended up at the Country Hearth Inn- Charlotte , NC.
After we checked in for two adjoining rooms we paid our money and drove around to the rooms 113. After entering the rooms we were shocked to see dirty walls, and cigarette burns, fesses stained in the toilet, the smell was overwhelming of musty stench.
All I wanted was to take a nice bath but as I entered the bathroom it looked like someone had urinated in the tub. the carpet was discuss-ting with grime and dirt. Just as I picked up the phone to call the front desk my Father came into my room with a look of shock on his face. He was telling me to come look at his room. I walk into his room it was even worse. His Television would not work, and the tub looked filthy with cigarette burns all over it. My father had requested a no smoking room but the room reeked of cigarettes. I went back to my room looked at the telephone that I just had in my hands moments before ,and was just shocked to see all the dirt on it. I took pictures of this room and my fathers room. His bathroom had all urine around the bottom of the toilet. I suggested we leave and my father being a bad diabetic said that he just didn't feel well and wanted to sleep for a couple of hours then get out of there. I agreed reluctantly due to his health. When I pulled the blankets back the sheets had big stains , and holes in them. Needless to say - I did not sleep at all. My father had gotten very ill from the smoke smell in his room. We left the Country Hearth Inn in the wee hours of the morning without bathing in the nasty tubs. I have never seen a more disgusting hotel in all my life. Everything I have just described I took pictures of.
