“Decent hotel, nothing luxurious”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

I stayed here over the Thanksgiving holiday while visiting family in the area. The hotel was decent, rooms were of average size, clean, and the staff at the front desk was very friendly. They accommodated our family, as we had reserved 5 rooms, and they made sure to put all of them next to each other.
My complaints would be the area of the hotel. It is not easily visible from the street, gets very dark and is next to the woods. Our car was broken into the night before we left, and Im sure the dark secluded are helped that. Also, the walls are very thin so you can easily hear people above, below and on either side of your room. This included the kids that were running up and down the hallways all night. The beds were TERRIBLE. They felt like concrete and I had to take Tylenol for back every morning. The tvs were also very old and need to be replaced.

Thank you for your comments and please accept my apologies for not having an all-around wonderful stay. You may be pleased to know that every bed in the hotel was changed last month (January 2012) to new pillowtop mattress sets by Simmons. Also, the TV's will be replaced with new 32" flat panel HDTV sets later this year. A few of our parking lot lights had burnt out during that period and it was difficulty in getting a repair company to come out over the holidays. The few times we have had auto break-ins at this hotel has invariably been because guests had inadvertently left in plain view a GPS unit or some other valuable. I'm sure this was not so in your case, and I am so sorry that this happened to you. We hope you will stay with us again. Thank you.

“Great property - easy access”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 December 2011

We really like staying at this property and have been doing so for the last 4 years. It is tucked away behind a gas station on a pretty busy main street. The rooms are surprisingly quiet for it's location. There is easy walking access to several chain restaurants (Denny's & Waffle House are across the street) and fast food establishments. A short drive takes you to the interstate and downtown Charlotte - heading north takes you to Lowe's Speedway and *lots* of other activities and shopping.

Remember - this is Tobacco Country - so smoking is still allowed - a ground floor room is best

Room Tip: Ground floor is best - this is the South, so smoking is still allowed

“Nice and Clean”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 November 2011

The hotel was clean and the rate was fair. The complimentary breakfast has fruit, bread (for toasting), bagels, fresh waffles (self-made), hard-boiled eggs, instant oatmeal, cereals and of course coffee, tea, juice and milk. We arrived in the evening and left early in the morning so I cannot comment on the neighborhood.

“Great service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 September 2011

Outdoor pool was nice and clean, staff was excellent, free continental breakfast with waffles was a nice change. Close to downtown Charlotte and the interstate. No complaints will stay again if in the area.

“Simple”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 July 2011

My wife and I stayed for one night as we attended the National Association of Free Will Baptists annual conference in Charlotte, NC. The lobby of the hotel looked in really nice condition and the hotel was clean. The room was very simple and very small, just large enough for a queen bed and not much more. The hotel still uses the old box-style TVs in the room, so no HD. The room and hotel is equipped with wireless wi-fi and an extremely small desk to utilize. The continental breakfast was ok with offerings such as cereal, Belgian waffles, hard boiled eggs, toast, English muffins, coffee, milk, and juice. The housekeeping staff seemed to be working very hard, and the front desk clerk named David did fine. There is a nice outdoor pool, but we didn't use it. All-in-all, a simple and quick one night stay. If you need space, upgrade to a suite as this room is cramped with only two people.

Room Tip: Upgrade to the suite for just a few bucks more.
