I have been debating for months whether or not to write this, but I think travelers should hear about my experience. I travel for work weekly, and I'm a dedicated HHonors customer. This Hampton Inn shares a parking garage with the HGI. Try that instead, or better yet, the Hilton a few blocks away.
Location is fine, just a few blocks from the downtown area and several restaurants. Access from the highway is easy. The hotel was clean and nice, even a bit more spacious than some Hamptons.
Service was great upon check-in and out. However, I mistakenly left a valuable object on the bathroom sink when I checked out. I didn't realize it wasn't on me until I landed back at home a few hours later. That afternoon I called the front desk and was transferred to the Lost and Found department. No answer, so I left a message. No one called me back so I called again in the morning and left another message. I did get a call back then. But before I had even told the rep what was missing, she said nothing was found. I had to make her stop to listen to me to tell her what I was looking for and then she said would get someone to check the room and call me back. I received no call back that day and had to leave another message. Another day goes by and still no word, so I call the front desk again and ask to speak to a Manager. That manager was not by the phone, so I left him a message and he didn't call back either. Each time I left my name, room number, and full contact information.
At this point I felt like my missing object had been pawned and no one wanted to own up to it. Now, it is clearly my fault that I left something valuable in the room. But what I cannot excuse is the lack of customer service from the management and lost and found team. Why didn't they return my calls and apologize that they could not locate the item?
As a result of this, I have stayed out of all Hampton Inns for the past few months and I will never select this property again. The hotel is fine, but I just don't trust the staff.
