Second stay at the sought after Hampton Inn at Phillps Place in Charlotte in the last two months. This hotel presents as a luxury hotel and offers a much warmer friendlier atmosphere than its competitor, the full scale Marriott nearby where I have also stayed. Stay at the Marriott if you like to put your credit card in a machine (hated this) to get a morning cup of coffee in the lobby. If you want a bar on sight, the Marriott offers dining and a couple of options on foot. Stay at the Hampton if you like coffee in your room and breakfast included and a lighter brighter lobby. Stay at the Hampton if you want some superb options just out the door for dining and shopping in a nice outdoor shopping upscale village atmosphere. First stay had adjoining rooms with kitchenette for a get away for four college roommates having a reunion after 30 plus years. We loved being able to walk to Charlotte's fine dining and shopping options from this hotel. Second stay at the Philips Hampton this week solo included the same pleasures for dining and a room with a safe, coffee, frig and many comforts. After enjoying a late check out, I worked a couple more hours in the attractive and sunny dining area online on my laptop with the staff's gracious support. This time I had packed a lot of high end costume jewelry packed because I was attending black tie events. I had it locked up in the safe in my Hampton room and of course I walked out and drove home without it and didn't even miss it for 24 hours after I got home. Called the Hampton South Park at Phillips Place and Whitney answered the phone and immediately reassured me that my jewelry was locked up in the manager's office safe and sound where it had been found and immediately turned into the office. Manager Greg called me personally to arrange for FedEx shipping and proper insurance. Jewelry case arrived at my house quickly with every item in it just as I left it. Kudos to Whitney at the front desk and to Greg for the follow-up phone calls and rapid and kind action and response. This hotel doesn't really need my positive review but I can assure you it is friendly and a luxury property with an exceptional management staff.

My husband and I stayed at the South Park Hampton Inn over New Years Eve and we were more than pleased. The previous night we had stayed in a less than nice hotel, so once we got to the Hampton were so relieved. The staff was friendly, the lobby was clean and pretty, and the rooms were great. It was quiet, clean and comfortable. There was even a TV in the bathroom mirror (we had only seen this done at the St. Regis and other super nice hotels, so we were impressed). We love the Phillips area in South Park (great restaurants and shops). I would recommend this hotel to everyone and we will definitely be staying here again!

Last minute decision to stay the night in Charlotte. Glad we picked this hotel!

We have stayed in this part of town on several occasions, mostly for VT/ACC games. Decided to use hubby's points instead of paying at our usual hotel. What a very nice surprise! Rooms aren't quite 5 star, but definitely 4 plus. We were upgraded to a king/whirlpool room which was outstanding.

Only reason we giving it 4 stars is that the breakfast was just ok. Seemed everything was frozen/pre-packaged with little to no taste. Room where food is very small maybe 10x12 making it very crowded. Diner area offered plenty of space, however, problem just to get to the food. Suggest they consider moving coffee and juices into dining area to free up some of the congestion.

We had three rooms at this hotel between Christmas and New Year and really enjoyed our time there! We had one suite and two standard rooms - though I wouldn't call them standard, they were very luxurious!!
Our view was facing the strip of stores and was gorgeous at night. there is a great Dean & Deluca wine bar, A PF Changs which we had dinner at, and a Dean & Deluca market (separate and across the road from the wine bar) which had fabulous coffees and cheeses.
the upscale stores were really nice, as was the movie theater at the end of the road.
The staff at the hotel were awesome and could not have gone more out of their way to make our stay enjoyable.
The breakfast room was undergoing construction when we were there, so it was served in a conference room, and it was just ok i thought.
Overall, though, we would return in an instant.
