Great place to stay!! Booked a room last minute for a quick trip to view the fall color. Great value! I am a little skeptical of hotels/motels. I usually stay in a cabin or my camper, but all cabins were booked due to short notice. After reading reviews of this place, decided to give it at try. I was pleasantly surprised. Room was very clean, and comfortable, and the owners were super nice!!!! I would even feel comfortable staying here alone. I hope I have a chance to visit again.

You will be checked in by the owners. You can enjoy viewing their pretty garden. More importantly, you can open your windows, and enjoy the fresh air. There are comfortable chairs outside of your door to unwind in. You will be about 1/2 way between Grandfather Mountain and Boone, NC - both great places to find good food and various events.

We stayed here 4 nights while in Boone for a football game and sight seeing. The motel is comfy and clean, and a good value for the money, especially considering the price of other lodging in the area. Mom and Pop owned and operated, very nice owners who try to make you feel at home. Our room appeared to have been kept up well, in fact the bathroom had hand painted wall murals which were quite pretty. When we arrived there were lots of chipmunks running around, with one in the bird feeder outside the office window. It is a few miles out of Boone but a pretty drive to town. No coffee maker but we had a small fridge and microwave, cable TV, plenty of towels, a comfortable queen bed, and homey furnishings. Ice maker outside office, and a few complimentary sodas provided
in the room. There were plenty of wall outlets for our electronics and WiFi worked well. The front garden was amazing. We were told that in the summer the flowers are especially beautiful. From the parking area there is a nice view of Grandfather Mountain a few miles away.
We would definitely stay here again if in the area. It suited us perfectly.

We just finished a road trip from New England down to KY, TN, & NC and up the Blue Ridge Parkway. We mostly stayed at chain hotels but decided to give this place a try based on the great reviews. We weren't disappointed. It was the best hotel we stayed at on our trip - unique, clean, and a good price.

We wanted to get away before winter set in. We decided on Boone and Grandfather Mountain. Also the Parkway to see the fall leaves. When I saw the motel I was hesitant at first ( the place was small and looked dated ) but after reading the reviews on tripadvisor it looked more appealing than the chain we usually stayed with. We found Jim & Maxine quite charming and hard working people. The room was clean and cozy with 3 beds . Plenty of room for the two of us. I contacted Jim by email with my questions and concerns as I have physical handicaps and he was more than accommodating. I'd stay there again in a heartbeat. The room was rustic but the price was great and we weren't looking for frills and fuss. Just a comfortable, clean place to sleep after a long day.
