Went to blowing rock in October to see the leaves change. If you go to blowing rock this time of year reserve your room a month a head of time. All the hotels were booked up. We got lucky and they had a room available. The place is a mom and pop operation. Room are updated, flat screen tv, king size bed is comfortable. I would stay again.

The room was very clean and quite pretty. The king size bed was really comfortable and the large ceiling fan was all we needed to stay cool on a rainy night! The bathroom was quite nice-clean and spacious,as well. The rocking chairs on the porch were a very nice feature. The Boxwood is within walking distance from restaurants and gift shops. A microwave and fridge would have made it a perfect place! We would definitely stay here again! There is a small cottage that we think would be a real treat!

We stayed at Boxwood lodge for a night and had a great experience. The room was clean and modern. Only downside was no breakfast but we went to a local coffee bar in the morning. The lodge is within walking distance of shops and restaurants downtown.

I had a meeting to attend in Blowing Rock, and stayed at the Boxwood overnight. The room was clean, attractive and comfortable. The price was considerably lower than the inn next door. My room, 104, had a comfortable king size bed with plenty of pillows, a desk, good lighting, a flat screen TVs mounted on the wall, and even a comfortable recliner in the corner. The spotless bathroom had a tub/shower with excellent water pressure, and nice toiletries. The closet had hangers and a luggage rack. There was a window unit air conditioner and electric baseboard heating. There was no fridge in the room, but there was a coffee maker. There were also very nice rocking chairs on the porch outside the room. The only issues I had with the room were a hair dryer in the bathroom that didn't work, not a problem since I had brought my own, and that the wifi didn't reach the building I was assigned. (When I called the desk, the nice gentleman told me they had equipment on order, and I could come to the lobby to use the wifi, which was adequate to meet my needs.) But don't expect to be able to check in early, even if rooms are available. When I arrived at 12:30 pm, the sign on the office door said they wouldn't return until 3:00 pm.

We stayed at the Boxwood based on the reviews we read and we were not disappointed. The lodge is located within convenient walking distance to downtown shopping and so quiet we thought we were alone in our own building. Our room was very clean and well kept. The owners are friendly, helpful and gracious. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here on our next trip.
