The unit was small but well appointed and fresh as it had just been renovated last year. We had one of the upstairs spa bath units and the view was extraordinary - straight across the road from the beach, lovely deck and you could even hear the tide crashing in against the sand in the morning. The hosts were very helpful and friendly - they were particularly good at suggesting places to visit around Whitianga. We will definitely return to stay again in the future.

We thouroughly enjoyed out stay at this motel. The top floor rooms with ocean view clean, modern and had all the comforts one would need. The owners were very helpful in suggesting activities and route planning too!

I couldn't wait to return to the Oceanside Motel in Whitianga after they spent 3 months remodelling in the middle of 2010. I travel a lot for work, and being able to stay in a nice place at the end of a long day's driving is such a relief.
The new refurbished Oceanside is fantastic, clean and quiet and right on the edge of a beautiful beach. Modern bathroom and kitchen and a spa bath in some units.
I will miss having such a nice place to stay at the end of a long day, when I change trips.

We have stayed at Oceanside before and went back earlier this month (September). We didn't recognise the place when we went to check-in. What an amazing difference! A lot of hard work, and we understand months of renovations, have created a totally modern motel which not only looks completely different from the outside but also inside.

We noticed that management had changed between the times we had stayed. We found the new owners to be very approachable, friendly, and dedicated to make our stay the best possible. They suggested activities that were appropriate for our children's ages and were helpful throughout our stay.

Oceanside has a reputation for having the best location (across the road from the beach, walking distance to town, the best views). Now it has the best location and is beautifully refurbished and modernised. Can't wait to go back!
