“Best pub EVER!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 February 2012

We normally go over for New Years and it is an amazing, relaxing break away from normality. The rooms are cosy with the most comfy beds, everything you need is provided - tea, coffee, milk, biscuits. However, you don't spend much time in the room as there is so much to see and do on Tresco such as the beautiful beaches, Cromwells castle, the old block house, the Abbey, and much more! The island is beautiful and is quiet as there are no cars. The New Inn is about a 2 minute walk from the quay which is great. Everyone is so friendly, especially the owner Robin, he's fab! Not forgetting the amazing food, there's so much choice with different specials every day. Locally caught fresh fish and local burgers, such beautiful food! There is a garden area to relax in, and a conservatory-style part of the restaurant which is lovely as you can look out and see the sea. Overall, an excellent pub, restaurant and B&B! I will be returning this year!

Room Tip: The sea view rooms offer fantastic views!

“Relaxing retreat”

Last April, my partner and I enjoyed a 3 night break on Tresco, Isles of Scilly. We stayed at the New Inn. The room was delightful, ground floor with its own garden, overlooking the pool and the main harbour. Peaceful and tranquil with lovely food, it was a lovely base from which to enjoy the delights of the Island. The trip was all the more exciting as we used the helicopter from Penzance and back.

Room Tip: Ground floor has advantage of having garden

“The New Inn - my favourite pub on my favourite island!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 November 2011

I have stayed at the New Inn, Tresco several times (once on our honeymoon) and I'm amazed I've never written a review at is a very special place! The pub has lovely guest rooms with the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in. Many look over the quay to the island of Bryher.
A stay here will be so relaxing - everyone is very welcoming and staff appreciate most folk come to Tresco to chill, and don't expect forced entertainment and organising. Our most relaxing time at the New Inn was when the papers arrived and we settled in the brown comfy sofas with a pint (several guest ales are always available), then had a game of doms, scrabble or pool. (we are keen walkers and are grateful for a sit down afterwards) Breakfast was always superb with fruit, cereals as well as the full cooked variety (poached egg on fish was my favourite), and the evening meals were always lovely - we chose to eat in the pub as it has more atmosphere than the restaurant, but that's just us! Robin the manager is a great character, rivalled only by Andre the barman who remembers us year after year, and even donned a pink cowboy hat in honour of my 'girlie' weekend there! Thanks guys!

“Very Expensive”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 November 2011

There is only one pub on Tresco . Average quality food but must be the most expensive pubs in the UK.
Crab sandwich cost £12-50p!

“Wonderful place”

This is a fantastic place to stay - really friendly people and fantastic food (rather better than the much more expensive Island Hotel!). A great place to switch off, walk or cycle lots and enjoy some genuine peace and quiet. We loved it.
But, be warned - flying SkyBus from the mainland is a complete disaster - avoid it! The helicopter goes direct to Tresco and much more reliable, or take your time and go by boat.
Skybus cancelled our outward flight and didnt tell us until we got to check in desk, the next day our flight was delayed and they left our bags behind because they didnt have enough weight allowance.
