Amazing location, we lucked out because the place was half empty and therefore very quiet. Possibly because it was just the beginning of the rainy season and also because of the crisis I suspect safari travel has gone down. It was like paradise, however, worth every bit of it-- I regretted not being able to stay longer and just chill out. The food was very good too, as well as the massages in the spa, at great value for a westerner. Do not miss the boat ride up the Kazinga channel.

We stayed here in July 2002 with a tour group of 10 people. Enjoyed seeing the hippos and crocs in nearby Lake Edward. However, the number of large animals in the Queen Elizabeth National Park was very disappointing. I understand that years before...when Ida Amin was in power...most of the animals were killed. Perhaps they've had a chance to recover in the past 8 years. One does not venture outside your room at night,! Without a fence surrounding the lodge, hippos, elehpants, lions, etc. may wander in and out. If you are looking for a true African Safari experience where you'll at least see the "Big 5" , you may want to go to Kenya or Tanzania instead.

A stunning location in a very interesting park. I stayed for two nights and made sure I was at the lodge for all sun rises and sun sets. The noises of the hippos and birds across the lakes are wonderfully relaxing.
Food and rooms were good. If you get the opportunity, stay there!

Overall a lovely hotel. Beautiful views across the Kazinga Channel. Staff were excellent, rooms comfortable and food was very good. Only stayed one night and it was very different to the other places we stayed whilst in Uganda. It is certainly more of a 'hotel' than the typical lodges that we stayed in in other parks (is closer to an accommodation experience in slighly more touristy areas of East Africa like Kenya and Tanzania) but overall, everything is of a very standard.
