“Not really a "luxury-tented camp," but OK”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 October 2011

The website makes this camp look like a true luxury-tented camp with the promise of hot showers and bathrooms in the tent. The shower was outside of the tent with a bamboo fence around it that was not quite private -- many gaps in the fence. As for the hot water, the camp needed a one-hour notice, which we did give one day, but never got the hot water. The toilet is in the tent, but separated by a half-wall with no door and is simply a toilet leading down to a bucket under the tent. This could get rather smelly at times. Despite these things, the camp is in a good location and the food is quite nice. The staff are friendly and very flexible about eating times. For $220 a night for a family of four (full board), I would have expected a bit more luxury, but $220 is relatively inexpensive compared to other game-park hotels in Uganda.

“The perfect mix of rustic and luxury”

Clean, stylish, creative, comfortable and great food to boot without feeling like your staying in a resort that could be anywhere in the world. We had an amazing stay here - the staff is incredible!! We even saw a hippo eating grass just in front of our tent cabin walking back after dinner. Luckily we had an escort who very calmly led us to our rooms making us feel comfortable and safe while still enjoying the fact that we saw a giant hippo just outside our room!

In a land of overpriced hotels, this place is a great value!!

“Amazing experience, wouldn't go anywhere else!”

We stayed here for two nights on our safari tour of Uganda, and it was absolutely inredible. The staff was wonderful, and the food great (four courses every evening!). Most impressive though were the views from our cabins where we had front row tickets to the Kazinga Channel and got to watch elephants and hippos from our comfortable chairs. And everything was eco-friendly as well!

“A great place to stay”

We spent 4 night at QEBL, in a tent, and I would suggest this accomodation to everyone.
The staff is kind and friendly, the location is very nice with good views and is immerse in the nature, the kitchen is very good, the tents clean and fashinating.
If I have to find something less good, I could say the shower was cold and the wc is a little unusual even if it was not my first time in the nature, but these are absolutly minor problems compared to what you get whit this lodge.

Room Tip: Probably the rooms with the best view are those directly overlooking on the Kazinga channel

“Amazing food and great scenery”

The tented camps are really cool with outdoor showers and indoor dry non-flush toilets. We stayed there for two nights and one the first night, I woke up during the middle of the night to hippos grazing just outside our tent! Something I'll remember forever.
The food is also definitely something special especially their 4-course dinner menus which is served in their lovely tented candle lit dining area. There's also a fireplace where you can hang out if weather permits.
They also have a camping site for travellers on a smaller budget.
