We had 2 nights at the camp and whilst the Lions were not in residence over any of our drives the camp more than lived up to our expectations which given the name wilderness meant we went for the location and not expecting ***** pampering.
However the tents were to a good standard and whilst not everything worked all the time (we were in a pretty remote area after all) for our party this affirmed the reason we travel to Africa and enjoy it so much.
From eating under the stars by the river,to the usual un-sophoriphic bush sounds (Hippo's really have bad indigestion), the stunning location by the river, the gourd lit communal area and books, the unusual and good quality food and just being in such a differant location and driving around early morning watching Hyena's try to hunt (they are really pretty rubbish!)more than compensated for any thoughts about western quality expectations.
In the end it came down to the local people we met and the wildlife we saw and being here ticked both those boxes for us..
