We had an amazing holiday in Tanzania, but the highlight was definately our stay at Selous Luxury Camp and the safari. The service the staff gave us was just brilliant and we will never forget the experience. It made a very memorable end to 2011 and beginning of 2012 for us. Simon our safari guide gave every consideration to us when out in the bush, and made sure we had plenty of good opportunities for taking photographs of the animals.

We came here on our honeymoon, after spending 3 days in the south of Selous.

From the moment we arrived we were welcomed and amde ot fell at home. During our stay we were the only couple on the resort, which at first we thought might be a little wierd, but the staff were so chariming, friendly and attentive which made us feel very comfortable and very special!!!

The room was amazing, I did not realise that camping could be so glamourous and luxurious. there was four poster bed with the most comfortable mattress, finest linen and an ensuite bathroom with a shower and a french bath in the middle. the only critisim was therer was not sufficient hot water for a nice bath!

Our game driver, Frank, was pretty awesome! he took just the 2 of us out everyday and ensured that we were comfortable and not in want of anythng. There was plenty of food and drink to ensure we did not go hungy or thirsty and despite being a game driver for many years he was just as excited as us to see all the animals and did his best to find everything we wanted to see... "its skill not luck" ;0)

The terrain in the north of Selous is very different to the south, it has more vegetation and is much drier. The game drives are not commercial (where there would be 20 jeeps surrounding aminals) and we would go some days without seeing any other drivers and it made it feel special.

We stayed for 3 nights and 3 days and we were treated so well it was such a shame to leave. On our last night the staff had baked us a cake and all sung their local welcome song which was fantastic.

Overall whilst the lodge is a little pricey it is worth every penny! This lodge helped to make our stay a very happy and memorable honeymoon!

These was like out of a dream. The 12 luxury tents with a bathroom with shower, free standing bath tub and 2 basins, were amazing. There were not many guests and the servcie was exeptional. We had a very attentive waiter and driver guide during our 3 day stay there. Beside the very expensive wine prices, we have nothing to complain about.
This Serena lodge is a gem in the green Selous Wild Reserve.
