I'm a university student from Sweden, studying tourism. I've been on an internship for a month in Jimbiza Lodge in Selous. After spending that much time in the lodge, I definitely got a thorough look at what it's all about. It was a very delightful experience and I really recommend anyone who wants to go on a great safari trip in the biggest game reserve Tanzania has to offer to go there.

The Lodge has a very good lokation right on the riverside, with a great view.
Room was very comfortable, the food was fantastic.
Game drive in the park was very good and the guide did at great job.

This is now my second stay at Jimbiza and once again, it was great!!
The atmosphere is authentic and "out in the savannah"-like. Food is plentiful and always nice, staff are kind and helpful and everything is clean. Ask to sleep in the "tents", as these are hotelsized anyway with full-fledged bathroom/shower but just way more safari-themed than typical lodge bungalows. Overall, I will highly recommend this place for a great safari trip to not-so-overrun Selous Game Park with everything you need in the medium-high class range. Big thumbs up!

I have been lucky enough to revisit this Lodge on a number of occasions. Each one at a different time of the year but the final visit in November was the best in terms of animal sighted on the game drives. This included the rarely seen wild dogs, The lodge is small and extremely well positioned on the river with excellent views. The staff were attentive and friendly and the food was always outstanding. It is well placed with only a short drive to the airport and into Selous itself. As well as the full or half day game drives inside Selous, the river safari was a truly memorable part of the holiday.
