“Friendly owners but Waterloo disappointed”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 June 2011

Selected for short visit to Sececa Falls area based on previous reviews but were disappointed with Waterloo in general. Warm welcome from friendly owners and comfortable room but we could have done with more variety and choice for breakfast.

“Not What We Were Hoping For”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 May 2011

We stayed at this B&B over the weekend for a girls weekend get-away. Shopping at the outlets, relaxing in a B&B.... The B&B itself was fine. The owners were very friendly. The cost was reasonable. But, the snacks upstairs were never refilled (empty when we arrived), the room was SO hot (and my friends are both pregnant, they were dying!), because it was so hot, we kept the windows open.... needless to say we didn't sleep well. It was loud from the cars and the birds in the a.m. The dog Harley, who was very cute, also was loud, barking quite a bit very early in the morning. We could hear breakfast being prepared in the kitchen (banging before 7:30 am) and worst of all..... Breakfast was COLD and not very tasty!!!! Everything we tried (minus the coffee) was less than desirable!
Will not be returning.

“Worth the detour”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 September 2010

Like everyone else, we planned a shopping gateway in Syracuse and the Waterloo Outlets and stayed at Through the Grapevine B&B. It was a perfect location to get from one place to the other and also to get a nice glimpse of the Finger Lakes area.

Joan and Mike were very welcoming and made us feel right at home. We had the Seneca Room with a very comfortable queen size bed and beautiful amish quilt. Although the room was facing the street, we were easily able to sleep with the windows open without being woken up by traffic. Don't forget the spacious ensuite!

The breakfast was awesome, with three course meal. We had scones, fruit and blueberry french toast brioche. More than enough to get the day started and help us skip lunch and get through to dinner!

Don't forget sweet Harley! Cute little westie that loves a good scratch behind the ears and loves to hang around while we chat with Mike or Joan.

“Great little spot positioned between wineries and shopping [outlet mall and regular mall in Victor]”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 August 2010

Just came back from a two night stay at Through the Grapevine. Our main purpose was to take our daughter shopping before she went back to the UK and I can say it was mission accomplished. The outlet mall is a very short drive from the B & B and the Eastview Mall was about a 1/2 hour drive [give or take]]. The plan was to spend one day at the outlet mall and then the following morning visit a winery of two but unfortunately we ran out of time and the wineries will have to wait until our next trip.

Mike greeted us on arrival and made us feel right at home. Everything we wanted was there including a mini fridge outside our room. The breakfasts were phenomenal, although more than we could eat. The 'piece de resistance' was the coffee!!! Mike explained the process of how they roasted their beans and I don't think we'll look at coffee the same again !!! Outstanding!!

Very clean, very homey, a cute little dog that never barks and Hershey kisses in the bedroom!! Very comfy beds, by the way.

Too bad we couldn't have done more!

“The perfect cozy B&B to pair with a trip to the outlets.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 April 2010

I came down to Waterloo from Canada with my mum to do some shopping at the nearby Waterloo Premium Outlets. We just drove down without any previous reservation and showed up unannounced at Through the Grapevine B&B. Joan and Mike greeted us warmly and showed us the B&B's two rooms.

We stayed in the Cayuga room which features a queen size bed, large day bed, and ensuite bathroom. Everything was clean and cozy and very welcoming. The B&B is located minutes from the outlets which was particularly convenient.

The following morning Joan and Mike treated us to an amazing three course breakfast featuring Mike's home roasted coffee. We were so stuffed we could barely finish our meal!

All in all we had a wonderful time and it was the perfect place to stay to turn a weekend cross-border shopping trip into a special weekend.
