My boyfriend, pup and I recently enjoyed a weekend at Bernetta's and were pleasantly surprised. It is everything I hope for in a bed and breakfast and more! I've stayed at a few places where breakfast means a coffee and muffins, not here. Both days breakfast was amazing. Everything Bernetta does here is with integrity, love and care. We stayed in the Milbrook Mountain Suite. It was spacious, clean and comfortable. It instantly felt like a home away from home. I highly recommend using the hot tub at night without the lights so you can look up at the stars. On our first night we took a walk to the nearby lake which was close and the perfect end to a weary day of traveling after a busy week. The next day we hiked around lake Minnewaska, dropped off the pup, headed to New Paltz for lunch and then over to the Hudson Whiskey tour. We stopped at the Mountain Brauhaus for dinner and back to Bernetta's to watch a movie and finish off our bottle of wine. I am not one to write these reviews but we had such a great time that I had to share. Everything about this trip was great. Bernetta was very helpful with directions and ideas of what to do in the area, as well as cook the most amazing breakfasts! Thanks again!

We just returned from a night at Bernetta's and had a wonderful time. Both the Inn and our hostess, Bernetta, were filled with warmth and charm!

As we are always on the lookout for great places to travel with our Yellow Labrador we were thrilled to find this home away from home. It's one of the rare dog-friendly places where one can't tell/smell that dogs are welcome. Clean, clean, clean!

Whether looking for a place to hike, shop, eat, or just some good conversation, Bernetta was Johnny on the Spot! All of her recommendations were terrific and we felt like she really cared about both her human and canine guests having a great time. Bernetta is the type of person you want to get to know better.

We loved our early morning jaunt through the woods to the lake where we were able to let our Lab roam freely and safely. Coming back on a chilly morning to a great mug of coffee,gourmet breakfast, and warmth of a fire made for the perfect start of our day.

We are looking forward to re-visiting in warmer months when we can take advantage of all the outdoor amenities and cozy nooks and crannies around the property.

Until then, we feel re-invigorated from our break in routine and from having spent some quality time with our pooch, nature, and our terrific hostess!

Bernetta is a very cool lady who has created a wonderful place to get away from it all, in a beautiful part of the Hudson Valley. Special people do special things and Bernetta is one of those! Apart from preparing breakfasts worthy of the nearby Culinary Institute, she went to night school to become a licensed plumber and carpenter, using these skills to rebuild and expand the original house to a Bed and Breakfast with four cozy choices for rooms. Ours was an artist's loft in an out-building with a peaked ceiling and an outside shower. Each room is finished in a different theme but all have the woodsy feel of the area. Well behaved dogs are welcome and all the guests brought theirs during our stay. In the morning, we hiked down the road to the lake with our dog before chatting with guests around the breakfast table. Bernetta provided us with directions to local vineyards, hiking trails, and towns. She also saved seats for us at The Falcon (a local music venue) where we had a great evening listening to guitar/singer phenom Scott Sherrard whose parents she introduced us to. At night she built a fire in the back yard where we recapped our day with the others while the dogs played. This weekend was just what the doctor ordered! Special thanks to Bernetta and her sister (her only helper) for creating this place and making it look easy, even though I know it's not.

My wife and I have stayed in the area many times but this was the first time at Bernetta's. We were very impressed with the beautiful wooded setting and well maintained property and grounds. We stayed in the lower level apartment and it was spotlessly clean with a full kitchen, living room with nice sized TV, 2 couches, and a rocker, and a large bedroom. The hot tub was very clean and perfect after a day of mountain biking and hiking. The pool was closed for the season but I could see that it was set up well with ample chairs and umbrellas. Bernetta has large towels for her gusts to use the hot tub and pool. Inside the main house there is a nice enclosed porch, dining and living rooms. She has coffee, drinks, and baked goodies available for her guests. Her breakfasts were delicious and she even accommodated us by proving an earlier breakfast because we wanted to go hiking earlier. Bernetta is friendly and knowledgeable about the area and easily approachable. This is a first class bed and breakfast.
