For parents of Syracuse University students who drive on I-81 North to campus, this motel offers surprising comfort and great savings especially on parents weekend, graduation and other dates when Syracuse-area hotels jack up their rates for university activities. Located at Exit 14 it may look like a glorified truck stop but in my four years of staying there it has always been clean, comfortable and incredibly quiet (especially when compared to the noise in downtown Syracuse high-rise hotel rooms). Although the hotel restaurant is closed down, there's a bank, drug store, gas station and large convenience store on the same corner and a couple of fast-food chains on the other side of the exit. It's a 20-minute ride from the Best western to the center of campus and a double room with a king-size bed can be had for around $100 a night.

The staff was friendly, the food was good, the room was clean and very quiet.

Located close to Syracuse

First off I would rate the hotel 3.5 star but there was only a 3 star or 4 star option. We chose the best western Tully Inn for our one night stay when visiting syracuse university. As I walked into the lobby, it was clean and traditional. There was the breakfast area off to the side which was your typical waffle maker, cereals, apples, bananas, muffins pastries, coffee, and juices. Warning there is no elevator - stairs it is only 2 floors. As I walked into the hotel room I was greeted by the bathroom with the toilet and shower (decent tile floors and basic basic shower) and single sink on the outside of the bathroom which was off to the left outside of the bathroom. The bathroom had no lock on the door. The sink area and mirror was very basic.. outdated laminate countertop with a light above it that was old and yellowish color (needed updating). There were two full beds in the room, which surprisingly had nice bedding. It wasn't quite your usual bogus/fartsy bedding. The TV was suitable. Pretty small and not flat screen. Lighting definately needed updating and so did the basic nightstand, desk, table, drawers. Carpet was clean and overall an decent stay for one night, plus the price was good.

We recently stayed here on our trip to take our son back to SUNY Cortland. This probably is the 4th or 5th time and as in the past it was very good.

While it is not fancy and doesn't have alot of bells and whistles, the rooms while basic are nice and the hotel staff is very pleasant and helpful. There is also a complimentary breakfast which is good.

Although about 15 miles outside of Cortand where our son goes to school, availability is very good and it is a pleasant drive.
