“Wonderful welcoming B&B with great hosts”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 July 2011

We found this lovely B&B at the last minute on our badly planned 'mini-moon' and it was a superb find. The hosts, Mary Ann and Robert are warm, friendly and welcoming without intruding on privacy. The attention to detail is 5 star with beach towels, beach chairs and passes ready for guests to borrow, an afternoon snack (homemade lemonade and coffee cake) and chocolates at bedtime. Best of all are the wonderful breakfasts - simply delicious. They also provided superb print-outs of directions and things to do in the area which were great. I would recommend this wonderful place to anyone, it's superb!

Room Tip: The photos don't do the rooms justice, they're great and super clean.

“A Cozy Place to stay while at LI Wine Country”

This place was soo cozy. MaryAnn and Robert were wonderful hosts. MaryAnn is a bundel of joy and Robert was a barrel of laughs. The bed, pillows was so soft. The house is immaculate! They were both very knowagable about the wineries. The stay was quite and peaceful. And when you came back to the room, the bathroom was cleaned and the bedroom was clean and prepared as if you never slept the night there and chocolate treats was left each night we were there. The delicious breakfast in the morning was great. We will try to reserve a room here again, when we come back to the wineries. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone. Oh Maryann thanks again for the birthday treats of chocolate dipped strawberries(my favorites)... ;-)

“Highly Recommend!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 August 2010

I took my Mom away for a "girls" weekend in Southold and stayed at Acorn for one of the two nights I was in town. The rooms were immaculate, the breakfast was healthy and delicious, and Mary Ann has an encyclopedic knowledge of all the local attractions and events. Mary Ann and her husband go out of their way to assist their guests in itinerary planning. I will definitely go back!

“Great Hospitality!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 June 2010

The house itself is nothing fancy, although some of the rooms are (I stayed in the cheapest room "Woodland Hideaway, but they make the most out of what they have. The proprietors are extremely nice and helpful, full of recommendations and suggestions and will help you with your plans. The house and room was absolutely immaculate! Breakfast and afternoon snack were great - although I would have liked better coffee.

The North Fork is expensive, so given this, this B&B is a decent value, although might not be as fancy as others in the area.

Just a note too - the Woodland Hideaway has a privtate, but adjacent bath (next to your room), not a big deal, but just an FYI.

“Absolutely Perfect”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 September 2009

We traveled to the North Fork for a wedding and fortunately for us, the hotel that all of the relatives were staying had been booked months ago. I found the Acorn Hollow on the Internet and made our reservation! Robert and Mary Ann are fantastic hosts. Their home is beautiful and they truly do, "think of everything" to make your stay wonderful. Breakfast was delicious and it was so nice to have our hosts sit down with us at the table and tell us about the area. Robert even gave us "shortcut" directions to the wedding ceremony that saved us a ton of time. These are folks who know what it means to be in the hospitality business. Simply lovely, like staying with old friends. We stayed in the "By the Sea" Room, which I think is the largest of their three rooms. Incredible bathroom with whirlpool tub....heaven. Big King size bed with one of the most comfortable mattresses. Pure relaxation. If you are going to the North Fork and you enjoy staying at a B & B. This is the one for you!
