“Comfy little palce in town”

This Inn is just off the main drag in town so there is not a lake view, but the room was very nice. We had the Terrace Room which is on the 3rd floor - King bed, fireplace, jacuzzi tub and separate shower with tons of water pressure. Since it was Labor day there was a parade in town in the afternoon and fireworks in the evening. We sat right by the hotel and watched the parade and were able to watch the fireworks from our terrace at night! A continental breakfast at the Sherwood Inn is included and there is coffee, tea and muffins in the Village Inn also. The room was beautuful, clean and the bed was comfy. I would definately stay there again. The town is a great stop, with the lake and shops, it makes for a lovely day.

“Excellent off-season rate.”

We wanted a short get-away close to home (Ithaca) for our 10'th anniversary. We decided on Skaneateles and we chose the Village Inn despite mixed reviews here. Glad we did! We stayed for just one night (April 30) in the French Country room. On this date, we still got off-season rates: $99 ($111.87 with tax) including breakfast for 2 on the terrace at the Sherwood Inn around the corner. The weather in the spring is highly variable around here, but we lucked into summer weather with temps rising into the 80s.

The room was large, clean, quiet and sparsely but tastefully decorated. Lots of light through the large windows, but we could draw the shades for privacy. The room had a king bed, sitting area in front of gas fireplace, large bathroom with jacuzzi tub, small fridge, central air conditioning/heating and free wireless internet. The room truly lived up to it's name. No lake view from the room, but probably quieter than a lake-view room in the Sherwood since the Village Inn is around the corner and off the main drag - but still right in the heart of town.

We usually stay at B&B's because we like the homeyness, but this was fantastic and unbeatable for the price. A real treat! In season rates are $215 to $235, so not as good a value - but still a beautiful place.

Lovely stay at Village Inn. Well located around the corner from Sherwood. Room spacious and immaculate. Breakfast either at Inn or at Sherwood. Enjoyed it very much - lots of privacy

“Loved our stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 October 2008

We had a wonderful stay in the "Terrace Room". The decor was lovely and the room very spacious and comfortable. The price was right and the location was excellent, just off the main street of beautiful Skaneateles. We wanted to stay at the Sherwood Inn and they were booked but we could not have been more satisfied with our accomodations. A continental breakfast was waiting for us in the morning but we chose to go over to the Sherwood for breakfast which was also complimentary. Really loved the atmosphere here, a memorable stay in a quaint village.

“Careful During Winter”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 September 2008

I wanted to like this inn. The village of skaneateles is fabulous and we received a great rate on our stay for a Saturday in February. We stayed in the french country room, and the room was nice and comfortable. I'd recommend taking breakfast at the Sherwood, even in the dead of winter - it is a lovely setting. Here is the problem. We stayed during a snowy night. The village is plowed such that the snow from the whole village is pushed into an intersection right behind the inn. The plows with the scraping noises and "back-up" beeping, kept us up ALL night. The Sherwood (management for the Village Inn) should switch all guests with reservations at the Village Inn to rooms in the Sherwood or Packwood on snowy nights (if available) so as to provide a good night sleep. The alternative was just miserable.
