We've stayed at the Stockade Inn for two Thanksgiving holidays to visit family who live in the Stockade historic district. Great location as we can walk back and forth. Very nice and helpful staff. Charming decor, is consistent with the historic feeling and ambiance of the surrounding neighborhood. Decent coffee and sparse selection of breakfast items in the morning. That's about where it ends. The beds and bedding are in desperate need of upgrading. Hard mattress, hard foam pillows (bring your own!), stained and musty bedding. The TV did not work properly. The toilet wobbled terribly and I feared it would topple over! The room has a "historic" feel -- high ceilings and such. VERY lacking in lighting! One large overhead light, one small desk lamp and only one bedside table with a lamp. Two of us could not read in bed. I highly recommend that The Stockade Inn consider focusing on upgrading or, sadly, we'll need to find other accommodations.
