We were traveling back home from vacation and just needed a room for one night. We attempted to stay at 3 other hotels but they were full. We were able to get "the last room" supposedly a king size "suite". The room was disgusting!! Large dark stains all over the threadbare carpet, mold in the bathroom and the chairs were so stained we could NOT use them. The other "room" in the suite was a 6 by 8 area with a bed in it and a badly stained sink area. For this they charged us $140 for a night!! As is was midnight and we were exhausted we slept on top of the bedding. The side entrance is NOT locked and had an overflowing garbage can and multiple cigarette butts on the steps. When I complained at the front desk they gave me a whooping 10% discount on checkout. Do NOT go here. You are better off sleeping in a rest stop than this hell hole!

I stayed at the Schenectady Quality Inn for one night recently on an overnight business trip and found it to be the most disgusting place I have ever been to. The rooms smelled horrible. The carpets looked and smelled like it had been in the room since the dark ages. The room window had no screen so I could not open the window to get air.The young lady at the front Counter appeared to be playing on the Internet so she didnt pay much attention to us. Really disgusting place!

This facility was a disappointment. I don't expect luxury at Quality Inn, but I do expect a clean, well-maintained facility. Problems here:

1. Overflowing garbage container at entrance.

2. Hallway and room had unpleasant odor, though it was supposed to be smoke-free

3. Room was dark. First, not enough lamps. Second, half of the bulbs were burnt out. Shouldn't housekeeping make a note of this so that it can be fixed before a guest checks in?

4. Food (breakfast, lobby coffee, cookies) virtually inedible. Again, I don't expect luxury, but surely there are decent providers of baked goods in the Schenectady area.

5. We were put on the same floor as a group of teenagers, who ran around shouting at night. Surely there was another room available for a reservation.

All in all, I will think twice about staying at a Quality Inn again after this experience.

The room was dirty, the furniture was torn, the fridge was rusted and dirty, the bathroom was gross, the pool was cold and dirty! Must I go on? We left a night early because of how bad it was. The boys didn't even ask to swim in the morning although that is all they wanted to do before we got there. I would say it's on the wrong side of the tracks and don't stay there. Travel to Albany and have a nice peaceful, clean sleep.
