I have been to Bettie's in Latham (at Hoffman's playland) and am always dazzled by the many delicious flavors of cupcakes. Yes it's kitschy but that's their schtick and it works. As for being overpriced.... If you've been to a specialty bakery before you know this isn't the case. They are comparable with their competition. They are also miles above their area competition. I highly recommend a trip to any Bettie's location! Coconut and red velvet are awesome. Bettie, why make desert again when I have you??

There was a cupcake place in Saratoga prior that fell flat! Bettie's is wonderful, because of Bettie's I know try cupcakes in all my travels. So far no cupcakes can even compete. They have a new lavender cupcake with a cream cheese icing, it is fantastic. I make that cupcake disappear in 5 seconds.

Those who yell the loudest aren't always the smartest. In the same vein, the cupcake shop that yells about itself the most, that begs to be noticed and will do anything for publicity, isn't necessarily the place with the good cupcakes. Just 'cause you recognize their name doesn't mean their product is quality. And these cupcakes simply fall flat -- they're, well, they're a little better than no cupcake at all, but they're dry and bland, simple as that.

If you're gonna spend the calories on a cupcake, get a good one. These just aren't very good.

I found the coconut cupcakes to be very tasty, while my daughter quickly made a blue cupcake disappear faster than anything! Very pricey but great for a treat every now and then!
