“Good place to stay in an area with few choices”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 July 2010

I am amazed that in this part of Westchester County there are so few lodging options. We had a family get-together in Mamaroneck and the Courtyard in Rye was one of the only places to stay.

I have stayed in other Marriott Courtyard properties and the basic room amenities are pretty standard. However, here the room seemed a bit smaller than usual. Also, the convertible sofa was rather hard and uncomfortable to sit on. While the mattress was comfortable enough, the polyester content of the sheets made for some fitful sleep due to feeling hot.

Rooms are well maintained. We did have a pen in our room! Also the 37" LG flat screen was good. As I've noticed in other Marriott Courtyards, the only mirrors are over the sink and on the closet doors across from the sink. It would be great to have another mirror in the room.

We did use the free coffee bar but it is not available at all hours. Since we had a mini fridge in the room, we stored our breakfast and drinks in it.

Considering the lack of competition in this area, the Marriott served our purposes well.

“Very stylishly renovated”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 July 2010

Doing some work at nearby Avon so stayed here as it's right next door (within walking distance). The hotel is surprisingly modern and has been recently renovated by the looks of it. I paid $160 with the Avon rate which is good value, although I was a little annoyed at having to pay extra for a breakfast. A very minor point but I couldn't find a pen anywhere in the bedroom. Must be a first.

“Very poor business value -- look elsewhere”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 July 2010

Hotel is merely functional. Room clean. Hotel staff pre-cooled the room to a bone chilling 63 degrees. Room nicely decorated. Bath amenities limited to soap, shampoo, and conditioner. No pen in room. Internet cable connector broken. While room was clean, dust snakes hung from the bathroom ventilator. "Free coffee" not available in the afternoon or evening. Lobby restaurant sells a ten dollar breakfast. All this on top of a one hundred ninety dollar room rate! Drive to the next town, save fifty dollars and get breakfast included. These guys don't seem to know businesses are trying to curtail expenses.

“Can't beat the location for Westchester.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 July 2010

My husband and I stayed at the Courtyard Rye for July 4th weekend. We travel often and were very pleased with this hotel. The front desk and housekeeping staff with exceptionally friendly and helpful. The woman at the front desk was very proud of the hotel and was able to speak to the updated lobby and some recent "going green" changes happening with the brand. We were very impressed. The bed was extremely comfortable and we were fortunate enough to have a small balcony that afforded us the opportunity to view several fireworks displays from neighboring towns. The accessibility from I-287 made getting anywhere in Westchester a breeze. We will definitely stay here again during our next trip to the area.
