Every year a friend and I take a trip to Blackhead Mountain to play in a golf tournament. We always spend the night, as it is a 3 hour drive home and we are usually quite unable to drive anywhere. The course is well kept, challenging to play and has some of the best views of any course we play. The rooms have been renovated and are basic but nice. Perfect for a gold getaway. The food and atmosphere in the bar is great. We love visiting the Maasmans and look forward to our return each year.

I have stayed at Blackhead Mt Lodge several times over the past 5 years, and have enjoyed it rain or shine. The golf course is tip top and the food is great too! The best pickeled herring I've had anywhere!

Great staff. Great fun. I'll be back this year with the boys.

we went to blackhead mountain lodge in October to view the fall foliage. the lodge seems nice until we got into the rooms. i have a habit of checking the sheets and these were dirty. they hadn't been changed. the bathroom was worse with feaces on the toilet seat. we asked for a room change but the sheets were also dirty. someone finally came and changed them but i spent a half hour sanitizing that bathroom because it too was dirty. there was mold in the shower stall and you could tell noone had taken the time to clean it. the breakfast given with our package was good but i was scared to eat there. i would never stay there again- even if it was free.

We stayed at this family owned golf resort on the weekend of September 29th.
We had a fabulous experience.
The golf course is somewhat difficult, but the scenery is beyond words.
The restaurant has the charm of the Black Forest Region of Germany. The food is excellent and beautifully presented. The staff is very courteous. The accommodations are unlike any we have experienced in the upstate New York region. Heavenly pillow-top mattresses and lots of pillows and a down comforter provided us with a wonderful night sleep. The rooms were older but seemed newly renovated and they featured all amenities included LCD wall-mounted flat panel TV's. A brand new fitness facility was also one of the wonderful perks.
We will definitely return to this hidden little treasure when the opportunity presents itself.
