Just looking for a place to crash overnight as part of a commute on the NY Turnpike, so I made an offer on Priceline and got this place for about 40% of their best price rate. I guess we don't stay in many 2-star properties but you get what you pay for.
Good
- The rooms are big with kitchens
- No extremely loud noises.
- No issues with a Priceline reservation.
Bad
- We arrived at 11PM and there was no one there at reception. You have to call and wake someone up to let you in. We left at 6:30AM and there was no one there so we left our key on the desk.
- No options for breakfast unless you bring it and do in your little kitchenette.
- Room in general is worn down - holes and stains on walls, patches on shower, tears in the carpet.
- Very minimal cleaning done here - there was some hair on the towels (which were thin as paper towels), no mattress cover (just toilet paper thin sheets), and dust/ dirt every corner or place you looked.
- Only bathroom amenity is a single small bar of soap that you should use for shower and sink and kitchen.
BOTTOM LINE
- Well, I guess for an ultracheap Priceline stay looking for a quiet mattress for 5 hours, this was fine. However, they really need to clean the rooms better, even if it is a no frills, budget property. I definitely was conscious to leave on my socks and put the luggage up high. If it was me, I would spend an extra $10-$20 for a basic, yet clean property (aka. Fairfield Inn type). I wouldn't go for this next time.
