“Love this hotel!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 January 2012

This hotel is one of the best in Rochester!
Maybe it's because I stay here many times monthly, but the staff is always friendly and courteous!

The Bistro staff is usually on top of their game!
The front desk staff has always made me feel welcome. (I love the cookies!)

Usually I get a coporate rate, so those complaining about room rates, should look into that.
Internet is hardly free in a hotel setting, so don't expect something for nothing!

Last stay I had trouble connecting to the Internet, and a gentlement walking by on his day off assisted me. (I can't remember his name but he had tattoos and a ball cap on)

This hotel is truly a step above the downtown hotels!

“Great hotel with nice updates.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 December 2011

This is a nice clean hotel. The staff were very nice and helpful. The restaurant was okay, service was slow and the breakfast Buffett was not good. Hotel was great, just eat somewhere else.

“Comfortable but in need of updating”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 October 2011

I agree with a previous review that this hotel is not worth the high price, however overall it is a comfortable place to stay. The staff was friendly and accommodating when I requested to switch from an interior to exterior room even though the hotel was nearly full. The room was clean but in need of updating.

“Nice hotel but a bit dated and definitely overpriced”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 October 2011

This Doubletree was nice enough, but for the money ($190 a night) it was just way overpriced so my review is pretty much based off of that. For the $100-$150 a night range I would been happy, but when you get up to this price level I just expect a bit more. Everything was very clean, but the hotel decor was starting to show it's age a bit. Day shift front desk was exceptionally friendly and helpful - night shift not so much. The bar area was definitely a dissappointment. Waited an eternity for a drink - just not attentive at all. They were sort of busy, but still - if this is the case it needs to be better staffed. For the money I'd look elsewhere next time or settle for the Holiday Inn down the street which looked newer and I'm sure costs much less.

“a good night's sleep”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 October 2011

We only stayed here one night, but the beds were very comfortable and the staff very friendly. We did not try the restaurant or the bar, but did go for a swim. The pool was nice, but found that the hot tub was seperate from the pool which is great for adults, but I could not sit in the hot tub and watch the kids in the pool. Overall, it was a very nice hotel and we enjoyed our stay.
