I thought that the hotel was clean. It is old and definitely a motel, so don't expect anything fancy. For the money it's what I expected. Bed linens and bathroom were clean, and that was all I cared about. Painted Post is just a dot on the map anyway...only stayed here while traveling over the holidays.

An older property formerly a Holiday Inn, but renovations seemed to have been recent when we stayed here on 9 July 2011 on our way to Toronto. Clean room with new comforter, sheets, chairs and drawers. Clean bathroom with no problems apparent. The clerk was exceptionally professional and though the motel had an on-site restaurant, recommended an excellent cafe across the street called Jellybeans, with great, inexpensive food and whimsical interior decor. The chef was also the owner and whose family members helped to run the place.

All in all, the Ramada was the only motel in the center of Gang Mills, a quaint little village directly below Painted Post. The interstate was less than a 100 yards away parallel to the main street through town.

Disgusting is the best thing I can say. Room reeked of smoke and had dirty stained carpets and desk tops. Looked like a dirty mop was used on the desk and counter tops. In the room, you don't dare take your shoes and socks off prior to getting in bed. Check in was very slow and no internet. My business colleague's room was equally dirty. It was so filthy, we seriously thought about sleeping in the rental car instead. I have stayed in many hotels throughout the world. This was the worst hotel I have ever experienced and hope I never see any thing like this again. Why has the health department not shut them down?

My checkin was a little sketchy. The clerk was either new or..... The room smelled nice upon my arrival. The parking lot was very very dark. The door from the hallway to the parking lot was always unlocked. I didn't dine in restaurant. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. I have stayed here before and noticed a marked improvement in cleanliness. The wifi was strong. The room didn't have flat panel tv's but a good selection of channels. The room had a microwave and refrigerator. The hotel was occupied by construction crews and they tracked mud everywhere. The hotel did try to put signs up to let them know to take off their boots, and even provided a device to help them scrape the dirt off the boots. But it didn't really help. This didn't take away from my experience. The hotel was putting on a new roof, so I was awakened by sawing and hammering early in the morning. I was also reawakened by vacuum cleaners early as well. The hotel is nice, but a bit overpriced. I would return, mainly due to my Wyndham Rewards loyalty.
