If you are attending a wedding in Owego, stay at the Hampton next door instead....save yourself the grief !
I have been to the Treadway for dinner in the past. Usually excellent food for DINNER time. Today me and my husband went to the lunch buffet. It was so awful that I felt I needed to write a review. No flavor, VERY BLAND, no options and flat out gross (even the salad dressing seemed to be watered down). I was very disappointed today.
July 17 and July 18 were to be two days with a great family reunion, being topped off by the birthday surprise of my brother-in-law, a Lt. Col. who lives in Berkshire , N.Y.
Alas, the happiness of the celebration was dampened by the fact that my 18 carat gold wire earrings, with nine gemstones "went missing" from my room.
Calls to Housekeeping Management were ignored, General Manager was indifferent and simply said "person who may have taken them" perhaps already left the job and to file a police report."
One young lady at the desk was the only person who was co-operative.
Tyoga County Police Department was co-operative and polite in taking the report of the missing earrings, but stated that they would not do an investigation.
My husband and I have lived in Africa, South America and Europe. We have traveled all over Europe as well as the countries of Japan, China, Israel, and Mexico as well as cruised the Mediterranean and the Caribbean. We have always had co-operation if we had left some personal article behind.
Not so in this case! The indifference of the General Manager is appalling and we ask that Treadway Inn examine the policies of this General Manager and look into his general attitude about assistance to guests who have reported items missing from the room in which they stayed.
In this case, I would like to explain how the earrings may have "gone missing." The fact is that if someone from the housekeeping staff had found them after I vacated the room upon departure, they surely would have turned them in to the Housekeeping Manager, who would have kept them with the identification of the occupants who had just vacated the room.
We will never recommend the staff, especially the Housekeeping Manager or the General Manager who were serving at the time.
The atmosphere was pleasant. The food was fair. The family reunion was great.

Very nice place to stay, service is top notch and the view of the river is very relaxing. The ball room is perfect for partys and it is a beautiful setting for weddings, both inside and outside.
Our friends wedding was nice, the rooms are outdated and not as clean as some other hotels Ive stayed at but affordable. 3 of the wedding guests were attacked by drunken locals. We were told to leave, once we made them aware we were guests for the wedding the attitude changed but now the hotel isn't giving information about these men even though they are regulars to the bar & the local police wont allow us to file a report. I would never recommend that anyone stay here it is a small town hotel doesn't seem to care about its patrons.
