My family had an enforced stop at this hotel due to a car breakdown, rarely do I welcome breakdowns while on holiday but this hotel almost made it worth the inconvenience. All the rooms were individually designed with all the modern fixtures and fittings one would expect. The manager and staff were very friendly and helpful. We only ate the buffet breakfast while at the hotel, which was extensive and varied with Champagne on Sundays. The building itself while modernised seems of great age with a fine old spiral stone staircase and fireplace more fitting for a medieval castle than a stylish hotel.

Beaulieu Sur Dordogne itself is a delight.

Stayed here for two nights . Hotel has obviously had a very recent makeover and is certainly stylish. Our room had an Egyptian theme which was not to our taste but which nonetheless was interesting. The sink/shower area had no door - only a partial string curtain affair. If privacy is important to you - take note.

Location in Beaulieu is excellent - right on the main square - but not noisy. Parking in the main square is free.

Negatives - our room was not properly serviced on the second day - the bed was simply made up - no attempt to clean the bathroom - tidy towels or empty bins. Since we were only there the two nights we did not complain. We did not eat in the hotel - continental breakfast at 14 euros was not of interest and the dinner menu was also very expensive.

My wife and I found this gem during a trip from Bordeaux up through the Loire Valley to Paris. We were shown room 15 that we found out was renovated in 2009. The room was great, on the front of the hotel and overlooking the main square; it was spacious with a modern bathroom and walk-in shower. A very comfortable bed comleted the stay.
We had dinner in the hotel restaurant where the staff were in uniform and the service and menu excellent. The buffet breakfast was also great value with a good selection.
They were in the process of renovating the second floor while we were there. Highly recommended.
