Cool Hotel. Nice beach and close to the waterfalls of Lobe. Service is also good as well as the kitchen. A little bit out of town. For Cameroon quite expensive.

Whenever you travel to Kribi to enjoy the great beaches and waterfalls, go to Hotel Ilomba.
The Manager was born in switzerland and after going to school in Kamerun, she went through a hotel - training apprenticeship in Switzerland and you can see the results of that training in every little spot of the hotel - the nice round houses are devided into two halfs that each form a spacious room and bathroom.
Geckos running over the place (outside) keep away the mosquitos.
The restaurant and the breakfast are fine and the bar overlooking the beach is also recommended. There, you can borrow books in English, German and French or play boules, pool or chess.
The hotel also has some holiday-appartments to rent. One even overlooks the waterfalls.

We were a group of 8 Europeans (one born in Cameroon) and spent 3 nights at Ilomba.
We paid 25.000 CFA for a room, breakfast included.The hotel is the place to relax after stressful days in Yaoundé or Douala. We will surely come back.

Quietly situated 6-7 km out of Kribi-town on an excellent beach. Nice rooms, but some refurbishment is needed shortly. Personell try to give a superb service level, but more english-speaking staff would be highly appreciated.

I participated in a Habitat for Humanity trip to the Majeng/Mbingo area of Cameroon in the Northwest region of the country. At the end of the trip, the team stayed two nights at Hotel Ilomba. The drive was scary - crossing little wooden bridges on a crazy dirt road, in a van with 14 people and luggage strapped on top - but the destination was definitely worth it.

The beds were comfortable, the food DELICIOUS, the waves - hands down the best time I have ever had playing in the ocean. We did not want to leave. Freshly made pineapple juice, papaya juice, coffee, margaritas... This was by far the cleanest place we stayed in Cameroon, and came close to paradise as far as we were all concerned!

The staff did not speak English at all, but we kept our French/English dictionaries handy and they tried their best to be accommodating to us. I would highly recommend this place to anyone traveling in Cameroon!
