“Large standard hotel room, neat and clean.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 January 2012

We stayed at the Holiday Inn Niagara Falls for one night in December in a King Bed Leisure room. The hotel room was a large standard hotel room, neat and clean. Walking distance to the American side of the falls.

“Great for families!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 January 2012

I have stayed here many years ago but since new ownership took over a few years back they have really done a great job with making this property the best destination close to the falls for families. Me and my family stayed there for a week and you have everything you could want out of a hotel. Pool, Game Room, Restaurant, Snack Shop and Updated Spacious rooms with comfortable beds, flat screen tv's (which to me every hotel should have)....if they cant afford a flat screen tv, then what else are they skimping on...think about it).
Plus with the convenience of being so close to the falls and the casino and the border for our walk over to Canada...you can't ask for anything more. The only think i would recommend to them is to update the exercise room....they still had old equipment but since i was on vacation i wasn't planning on working out anyway...lol.
Oh ya...great staff at the front desk and the restaurant food was really good!

Room Tip: get the side not facing the parking lot...

“An Average property , but thriving with good staffers.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 January 2012

There is nothing great to report. Try this place when nothing better is available. This hotel is existing because of it is employees. Mr. Andy at reception desk had a done a great job in checking us in when many customers are waiting to get his attention on many counts. Another case of good employee response was when we found out that our coffee machine is faulty that too at 6.30 am of a cold winter morning. We reported to the Customer care and within 2 minutes, to our surprise, a technician knocking at our door. He tried his best to repair, went running out and came back with a new machine within 3 -5minutes. We felt happy and came to the conclusion that this property is surviving because of its employees.
Rooms are ok. Corridors are stinking with nicotine, even though we stayed in a non smoking zone. Carpets need to be thrown off. The 4th floor corridor door closes with a bang and was sufficient to give us sleeplessness.. We stayed near a corner room where ice vending machine is, and this noisy vending every time was good enough to wake us up if we sleeping by any chance. Being holiday season there were student groups and our floor was vibrant till 3 am in the morning. Swimming pool traffic is through the lobby and that is telling up on the lobby floors

Room Tip: Avoid rooms near the vending machines in each floor also near doors of the corridor.

Since December 2011, we have made many renovations to our floors and in the common areas of our hotel. We have thrown away all old carpeting on the floors and made modifications to our hallways and lobby area. In regard to the slamming doors, we have replaced every door moulding during our renovations to make sure they all close quietly and properly. If you visit our property now, since our renovations have been completed, you will be delighted by our refreshed appearance.

“We very much enjoyed our visit to this hotel, the ENTIRE staff was wonderful!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 January 2012

Our family stayed at the hotel in December and found many updates to the property. The location to the falls is wonderful, we walked and it took a little over five minutes. It is also within walking distance to local restaurants and bars. The staff was very, very friendly and helpful which is definitely very important! We highly recommend this property, a must see!

“Eh. Good location, but we would never stay here again.”

I read reviews before visiting and I never know if people are just being nitpicky or not. And the negative things I read were unfortunately true. In the first 12 hrs we were there, the fire alarm went off 3X. Once at 6pm, again at 2am, again at 6am. Flashing strobe lights & a voice repeatedly saying ATTENTION. AN EMERGENCY HAS BEEN REPORTED. PLEASE EVACUATE. We stayed 3 nts and thankfully it didnt happen again on night #2 & #3. My boyfriend and I are in our early 30's & we came here for a few nights to Niagara for New Years Eve. We've stayed in several Holiday Inns before & this is honestly by far the worst.

- Beds are pretty comfy. We slept fine. Extra blanket in closet smelled though so I wasnt about to use that.
- Hallways are dark and dingy, carpet ripped in spots & dirty. Light fixtures from the 70's.
- Room itself was decent sized. Flat screen tv. Frig/freezer was nice to have. Carpets seen better days. Take your slippers. :) Furniture in room was nice. Looked new.
- Front desk people were extremely polite and helpful. I dont have a negative thing to say about anyone that works there.
- Lobby and entire 1st floor smells of chlorine. We did not use the pool during our stay.
- We were missing a luggage rack in our room so I called front desk and about 5 mins later, someone brought me a really dirty, tall, serving rack (that waiters use for food). It did the job, but a little weird.
- Location is fantastic. You can see the casino from hotel - about 1 block away. The bridge to walk over to Goat Island is also about 1 block away. Its worthwhile to walk the loop around Goat Island. Its scenic and pretty. Prob about 1 mile or so around. Hard Rock and several other local bars all within walking distance as well.
- Bathroom - pretty dirty. Mold in tub around fixtures. Dirt caked in corners. Towels were like sandpaper. Thin and very scratchy. They have lime verbena Bath & Body Works shamp/cond/lotion. Roaring loud bathroom fan (that you cant turn off).
- Breakfast Buffet - Not included w/room. I think it was $11 p/p. It filled our stomachs, but nothing special. Waitress was pleasant and efficient. Again, good customer service.

Since the beginning of the new year, we have put in all new carpeting on the floors and have updated our hallways.
Along with our renovations, we have refreshed and deep cleaned each and every bathroom.
