“Will NEVER stay anywhere else!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 February 2012

I have to say seeing that this hotel received even (one) terrible or poor review is surprizing! Every hotel has people who seem to never be pleased or may have unfortunately dealt with uncommon situations. As for the price, it has gone up since I stayed here, quite a bit.
I was so impressed with the pictures on the website when I booked a standard one bed room & I have to admit there were so many good reviews I was skeptical.
In Oct 2010 my husband & I were visting family in Lockport & thought it would be nice to stay at the falls for a few days. When we arrived it was everything that I thought it would be plus some! The interior/exterior of the building is well taken care of, cute, & clean. It is within walking distance to everything. Customer service was impeccable! They valet at no extra cost, though because of location you have to pull up & stop right in the lane on a 2-lane street, which is odd but at least it isn't heavy with traffic. Check in was quick & the staff took our bags up as we got the keys. The room was clean, fairly large, & very well decorated with a flat screen, coffee maker, & mini fridge. Our room did not face the falls but the front, which was a little disappointing, but not bad. The bed was REALLY comfy and warm. The showers are AMAZING...I actually came home and bought a comparable shower head after the trip! The bathroom was roomy & came with a heat lamp to get the room nice and toasty before the shower if you want. Valet was promt upon leaving, called down & they would be pulling up as we were coming out if not right after. Not one problem with turn down service. Breakfast was included and was actually really good compared to your typical "breakfast included." There were a variety of hot and cold foods and beverages. The dinning area is a bit small, especially if several are eating at the same time, but it was not bothersome. We came back from outings to fresh baked cookies on the night stand & they even offered to send up more. We didn't take advantage of the bar but we were notified that they had a limited selection at the time due to the fact they were a new hotel & still in the process of obtaining a liquor license. Check out was quick & we were asked how we enjoyed our stay & thanked for staying "please come again" as normal.
Overall, it was one of the best, actually maybe the best due to their standard of customer service, that I have ever stayed it. I don't plan to ever stay in another hotel when visiting Niagara Falls again! I recommend this to everyone that even mentions visiting the falls!! You won't be disappointed.

“Quality hotel, wonderful staff”

You won't be disappointed. A great boutique hotel with excellent service, care and detail. We were pleasantly surprised. They pay attention to all the details! Chocolates in the room, fresh cookies as an evening snack. A very comfortable bed with quality sheets and bedding. Cozy bathroom with heat lamp, large stand-up or sit-down shower. Simple and good American breakfast. Wonderful staff, very pleasant and helpful. Had a good night rest. The lighting is somewhat dim, but overall a great place to stay. Don't forget to visit the 19th floor observation lounge and get a panoramic view !

Room Tip: May be to book direct through the hotel direct and speak to the staff.

“Cute boutique hotel, we'll be back!”

Just came back from an evening at The Giacomo, will definately stay there again! Staff very helpful and friendly.. room nice and clean... quite a few nice touches. Only downfall, and I read it here before we booked.. the rooms don't have quite enough light in them.. otherwise, terrific boutique hotel!
Starting with the complimentary valet parking... super friendly staff and art-deco rooms... the room was beautifully decorated, the bathroom huge with Crabtree & Evelyn toiletries, comfy robes and even a Keurig coffee machine... splendid stay!
They have a chauffeur service anywhere within a 5 mile radius.. which is perfect for a quick jaunt over to the casino.. call them and they'll come and pick you up!
Continental breakfast was much better than a standard breakfast at a chain hotel.. and if you get a chance.. you MUST pop up to the 19th floor for the gorgeous view of the Canadian side and sky views...
We will definately be back!

“Pick somewhere else!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 January 2012

We booked this hotel through a 3rd party website, so the only redeeming quality about our stay was the fact we didn't pay what they normally charge for this overpriced place. The walls were ABSOLUTELY PAPER THIN. We got woken up one night by our "neighbors" having a heated discussion, but nothing we should have been privy anywhere else. There breakfast is just heated up frozen food, nothing prepared fresh, and to top it all, they lost our car key.

My wife and I had booked a hotel for the night after we checked out of the Giacomo; we woke up at 7 am to check out and get on the road, only to hear they had lost our car key. It literally took 2 hours before we heard from a manager and another 4-5 hours before they "bit the bullet" and had a key made for us. This left us with a hotel that we couldn't make, but the manager promised they would reimburse us (have not seen a check after a month and several unanswered voicemails/emails). This place is trying its best to impersonate a nice hotel, but failing at every turn. It's like someone just decided to run a hotel out of the blue.

I WOULDN'T RECOMMEND STAYING HERE TO ANYONE!

“What a Jewel!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 January 2012

What a jewel of a boutique hotel in an otherwise tarnished downtown area. The staff goes out of their way to help. Came to the hotel for a cocktail party and decided to spend the night. Since we are from the area, my wife and I decided to do an "intown" getaway. Are we glad we did? YES!! Rooms were very nicely appointed, bar/lounge area is sharp, and the valet parking service is very convenient. Hotel provided a shuttle service for a bunch of us to go to the casino after the party. Any request was quickly handled. Great service! There is no other place to stay on this side of the border. So glad we stayed.

Room Tip: Ask for a higher room to hopefully get a view of the falls area.
