compared to the other local motels,this one has everything they do,except the price is lower.no frills.Nice lake on propwerty.no hairdryer in bathroom.Lobby is cute with a continental free breakfast til 10 am in the morning.Would definatly stay again while visiting my son at Suny New Paltz

The only thing this motel had going for it was the convenience to where I needed to be, but I have since heard from others who travel in that area that both the Super 8 and EconoLodge are much better.

To begin with, the window was open upon my arrival, and I think the fresh air concealed the overwhelming smell of mold that greeted me when I returned later in the evening, having closed the window upon my departure. By the time I got back about 10:00, I was so tired I just dropped into bed and fell asleep with the TV on. Two hours later I awoke practically choking on the overwhelming smell of mold. It was midnight, and I didn't have the wherewithal to walk down to the front desk and ask to be moved. I wish I had. Though I am not sure there would be any better room. When I awoke the next morning, my chest was tight and my throat felt weird. I'm still not feeling normal two days later. I don't know if there was mold in the walls, the rug (which felt dirty), the ceiling tiles or flooring. There was definitely visible mold on the shower tiles, but this went way beyond that.

I complained to the kid who checked me out in the morning, but he just gave me a blank stare. I had called to book a room back in the spring and was told the hotel was closed for renovations. I can't imagine what, if anything, was renovated. I am tempted to call the health department.

To begin, ceilings were irregular and a rough surface and wear on the walls needing repair. Lamps were from the 60's and not a good lighting system. Basic furnishings. King size bed was comfortable. Old style TV but was adequate. Wifi was available. Bathroom had mold on the tiles, walls, shower curtain, otherwise, room seemed clean as was the linen. No hand towels, just bath towel (2) and washcloth (2) for my wife and I. Advertised as the 'lowest rates guaranteed' but comparably priced motels in the area were more modern and up to date. Continental breakfast was advertized but toaster kept blowing a circuit breaker and never toasted the bread. No napkins. Reserved a room because it was convenient to the interstate but would drive 5 miles out of the way next time!

A basic motel, and it was clean, comfortable and cheap. Staff was friendly and helpful. Two beds in the room, one mattress was new (I only checked the one, and yes, it was bug free!). Towels ok (not plush, but not threadbare), sort of the theme for the hotel: good enough for the normal traveller. If you want high-end, then maybe pay more for a deluxe hotel elsewhere. I didn't expect breakfast, and the continental was not worth bothering (IMO,) so I just went down the street for a Burger King breakfast. WiFi worked fine. There was a frig in the room. Room had plenty of space for 2 suitcases, etc. I was very happy, and would stay here again. It had exactly what I wanted: the basics done well.
Other Details: bathroom was clean, no leftover ick from past occupants. One bed looked perfect, the other maybe a bit lumpy. The door had a security chain but no deadbolt, so a solo female fraveller might not be thrilled by that. Bring a clothespin with you to close the gap in the curtains (a simple solution I read about in a travel magazine). Maybe bring a few extra hangers too. Breakfast was bagels, toast, english muffins; but all the spreads (peanut butter, cream cheese) were from big mutli-use containers .... I don't want to dip in the same jar with yesterday's strangers ... just a personal thing. TV had lots of channels, but no premiums like HBO. The room itself was cold when I arrived, which is reasonable in January to save energy. The heater blasted nicely, and the room warmed up in half an hour. Plenty of hot water for the shower. No blow dryer in room. Easy to find, as hotel is 1st one I saw off the exit. I was here off-season, so easy to request a room away from the interstate. I had a very quiet stay. Quick ride to town for fast food or pizza.
